Eggs disappear instead of turning into rotten eggs

I left some eggs in my house and waited for them to be turned into rotten eggs but instead they disappeared and now i cant make gunpowder to open suspicious cracks to get to the ancient calender

Steps to Reproduce
Have some eggs and leave them to be rotten eggs after ten days( i left them in my house on the ground)
Go to bugs

This bug must have something to do with the house. I left some food in the house and it didn't turn into rot, but diappeared. If you don't drop eggs in the house, but carry with you, they'll turn into rotten eggs eventually.
