I dug up a bunch of regular grass tufts from the town, but when I planted them near my camp they became tall grass. All of that flint wasted. 
Steps to Reproduce
Dig up regular grass tufts, then pause the game on the map while you eat dinner. Then, with a full belly, unpause the game and plant the tufts near your camp in the dark green biome and pray that you don't have to use a machete to get the grass again. (At least you didn't have to use that rot you picked up in town, right?)
