I can't tell if this is intentional, but the damage you do to the Pugalisk's scales will carry over between worlds. I cut away a good portion of its hide a few hours ago before being killed by it, and when I found it again a few minutes ago in a new world, that portion was still completely bare.

Fight the Pugalisk in one world but don't kill it, then summon the Pugalisk again in another world.
