Probably the same thing as with placing item that can rot on shelf and then picking it when it rots (ref this bug report), this crash happens:
Please fix this asap! Normal shelves in your house should just have the item turn to rot and in shops not rot at all!
Steps to Reproduce
* Wait a few days for item like fish morsel to rot in shop shelf (Was day 8 for me) * Pick it up, game will crash
