If you're out of souls in your inventory but still have room in your backpack you won't pick up the souls and Wortox drops them.
Steps to Reproduce
Fill out your basic inventory, ran out of souls, have room in your backpack for new souls, gather a soul, instantly drop it like you're full even tough you have room for it in you backpack, lose that soul.
