i cant launch the game because the recent update wont download. 

Steps to Reproduce
launch the game. window says it is updateing but not information is being downloaded and it just stays on the update window.
Go to bugs

It sounds like your Steam client is having trouble connecting to Steam's servers for updates. Please restart your computer and try updating the game once more.
