The Road to the Perfect Beard (For Warly)

So, Klei fixed a bunch of instances of Warly's beard sticking out, so I decided that I'm going to log all of the times it sticks out. 

First, some appreciation for all of the beards Klei's fixed.

These are amazing! Something worth noting, Warly's Victorian beard has... absolutely ZERO sticking out, at any point. At all. Ever.
Now let's just... move onto what nobody wanted to see.

BIG EDIT: WAIT!! I've just discovered the Victorian Warly beard has its own issue entirely. Breakage.

His beard breaks. Some notable examples:

So uhh.. that's it. (I think). I think these are the final obstacles stopping us from achieving the perfect beard. Once again, thank you Klei, and I'm sorry. (You're probably sick of hearing me complain about minor graphical things)

If there's any of these I think should be prioritized, it's definitely gotta be the Trawler's beard and the Victorian's beard. The Victorian beard is just broken, and the Trawler's beard looks the weirdest. (Although the Rose's floating beard is also weird too)

Update: Trawler is mostly fixed. It's on its way.

Note: Some of these will only show up in the wardrobe screen anyway, and mods are required for them to show ingame.

Thanks for compiling these, I appreciate your attention to detail. Victorian Warly's beard introduced some particularly difficult challenges, we're going to try a few things to see if we can improve the breakage, but we might have to deal with a little separation.

A minor solution I had to this, with my Warly in the Shipwrecked Characters mod, was to toy around with the face's x and y positions, mostly with its pivots in the scml. Making it not go higher than it needs to be while still allowing a smooth transition w/ the existing animations, kinda like Woodie's. Most notable on the "angry" faces (24-25-26) and the "yawn" face.

Though, ultimately, Peter's right with having to allow some breakage. If you want to exaggerate the facial animations for all characters that is. Happens to a lot of skins as well (Willow's yawn). I'll take more fun animations over it sometimes admittedly, but it's always good to check these potential issues.

Update (again)!: Klei snuck in some fixes to Warly's Trawler beard in particular! These are great!

They also did some tweaks to Warly's Roseate beard! (which I somehow didn't even notice was kind of like.. flattened at points. Still like goes above the chin but I honestly don't think it matters so much for the Rose)

My repulsion towards stickouts is starting to fade. Adding more that I've found, removing those that have been FIXED. Haha, this is becoming a project now... Definitely going to stick with this one to the end, and maybe do more skin complaints. (Although that will take a while because this does take out a good bit of energy, and I also have to... get the skins.) I think I'm going to stick to lesser reports for that though, big bulky posts like this are annoying to keep up.

Thanks Klei for supporting this cause. Now back to tweaking the post because it's become painfully inaccurate...
