Purple gem destroyed?

The deconstruction staff is not supposed to be able to recover gems from any object. (With the exception of the opal)

Oh I see but still it is abit weird that the staff can make a normal purple gem disappear.

When did they change that in Together?  In Single Player version, the purple gem can not be destroyed by deconstruction staff. Casting spell on it just gives a radius of light.
