Lureplant infinite leafy meat

I set up 4 lureplant bulbs on turf so I could farm them, all within one turf unit of each other. They were nearby my base but a bit out of the way and I forgot about them. Around a season later I came back and found one gone (probably killed by hounds, it was near my Houndius Shootius and tooth traps), two inactive, and the last surrounded by a massive pile of leafy meat. An eyeplant right next to it was continually picking up leafy meats, while the lureplant was spitting more out (I'd assume that eyeplant belonged to that meaty bulb but not sure). I killed the eyeplant so it would stop, and when my friend checked back later he found all of the leafy meat had entirely disappeared, no rot or anything. I have no idea how this happened, anyone else encounter this?
