for the lag that causes this, we can not play well my friends and I.

Hello @byetse, welcome to the forums. The Bug Tracker is specifically for bugs and issues with the base game (modless/without any mods). But since you have mods, it's most likely due to one of your many mods.

You'll have to isolate every mod one by one to figure out what's causing your issue. Or go to your log files:

For client_log.txt:

  • Go to Documents\Klei\DoNotStarveTogether

For server_log.txt:

  • Go to Documents\Klei\DoNotStarveTogether\Cluster_#\Master (wherein # corresponds to the server slot used from the in-game Host Game menu)

This is just guesswork, but disable mods that use a lot of memory. i.e. Disable MiniMap HUD first and see if it helps. MinimapHUD takes a lot of computing power from your PC and if you are hosting directly from your PC through the Host Game menu, then it will also deteriorate the performance of the server since you are hosting it on the same PC.

@byetse unfortunately, no. You'll have to ask the mod creators specifically to be able to fully fix an issue of a mod. Ultimately, it's better to disable mods cause some mods are/were made for a specific version of the game and when the game updates issue occur. You'd have to rely on the mod creator to update their mod. Sometimes, mod creators stop updating mods.

If you attach a copy of your log files I could help determine which mod is causing the crash that you can then disable. But I cannot provide any help with making a mod work. I'm just a moderator on the forums and I do not have the knowledge to diagnose and correct issues for mods in general.

To report to mod creator follow instructions below:

  • Open Steam, and click Browse the workshop for DST
  • Use search function to look for the mod's Mod Page by searching for the HUD minimap you are subscribed to
  • If you find the specific mod page that you are subscribed to then Add a comment in the mod page about your issue and give them a copy of your log files.

To disable mod:

  • Open DST
  • Click Play
  • Click Mods
  • Click Server Mods (uncheck mods you want to disable)
  • Click Client Mods (uncheck mods you want to disable)
  • Apply

To find log files:

Both are important to determine where the issue comes from.

@byetse It's likely that the world you are trying to run has already been corrupted by the mods you've used before.

So instead if you've removed all mods by unsubscribing to them from the steam workshop and then disabling them in the mods menu, try and start up a new world from scratch.

You probably have a lot of mods that could be conflicting with each other when you made the world that crashes. Some of the mods you used could also be outdated and will not function correctly in the latest version of DST. Unfortunately, I can not help with diagnosing which mod is causing issues if you cannot provide the necessary log files (client_log.txt and server_log.txt).

@byetse looking through thoses logs, it doesn't seem like you are experiencing crashing. Common crashes usually output trackback errors.

However your logs are outputing:

steamnetworkingsockets_lowlevel.cpp (88) : Assertion Failed: SteamDatagramTransportLock held for 36.0ms!

Doing abit of googling for that error suggests that its likely an issue caused by an antivirus interfering with the game when it tries to connect to a server running on the same system (which is what happens when you run servers through the Host Game menu). My suggestion would be either of the following:

  • Add DST executables to your antivirus' whitelist programs. Depending on your antivirus there should be online guides on how to.

OR

  • Disable your antivirus and see whether you would be able to host and play on your own world without any issues.

Just to be safe, always start with a new world.

@byetse please elaborate. What do you mean "... the other way around."?

Have you attempted the method I mentioned above? 

  • Whitelisting DST
  • OR completely disabling anti virus
