Can't redeem code

I recently received a don't starve winter hat and I can't redeem it. I've looked around on the forums and couldn't find anything that talks about this. Can I get some help?

Received code with item, put in code, didn't redeem
Go to bugs

Are you trying to redeem the serial number on the hat? You should have received a card with a number that has 4 blocks of 4 characters. Example XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX
