Audio Turning into Static noise

Hello I have recently bought Don't starve Together and have had this issue since i first started the game. The audio will being to sound very distorted, sounding a lot like static. From there, all other in game noise seems to sound very distorted as well (the characters talking). It seems to come and go, but most of the time the audio is bad so i have to play with the game muted or with very low volume. Also, if i play audio from anything else, going on Youtube and playing a video, the sound comes out well.

I didn't add the others files that were asked for because i didn't know how to find them in Linux, so if you need anymore information let me know where to find it so i can post it.

I am running Linux Mint 17.1 so here's the info about my system.

I can not consistently reproduce it, but just playing the game, the problem will come up on it's own.
