Wortox's Soul Hopping ability originally faced this issue. With the lazy explorer, if you teleport perfectly, you don't take any damage. However, you're armor will still lose durability.
This is a gif demonstration where Combined Status was used to prove this to be the case.

A developer has marked this issue as fixed. This means that the issue has been addressed in the current development build and will likely be in the next update.
