Salt Box Doesn't Work

I've noticed that food items placed in a salt box spoil at the same rate as food held in regular inventory (i.e., not in an insulated pack or Snow Chester).  The salt box seems to do nothing to slow spoilage.

Steps to Reproduce
Place any food into a salt box--spoilage happens at the same rate as if food were in inventory or a chest.
Go to bugs

I ran a 4-day test with fresh meat in a salt box, ice box, and treasure chest. They all perished at a different rate.
If you have any mods enabled, this may be the cause. I'd also suggest verifying your game files via steam.
