Hey Klei!
Upon hitting the closed mast with hammer it forces the mast to play the animation of the mast opened but it's just visual you still have to release it.
Steps to Reproduce
1: c_makeboat() 1b: make a boat and build mast on it | 2: Hit the closed mast with hammer | 3: the mast should play released animation however you wont move an inch and you still will need to release it as hovering over it says so.

A developer has marked this issue as fixed. This means that the issue has been addressed in the current development build and will likely be in the next update.
