Using a catcoon whip, if you get a killing blow with the louder, pacifying crack of the whip, then the barnacle plant will not really die, and will go back to it's dormant position. You can't attack it to kill it once it's like this, and it won't behave normally in general.
Steps to Reproduce
Get the barnacle plants HP very low, kill it with a whip and hopefully get the big crack, if you killed it with a big crack, it will reproduce bug.
A developer has marked this issue as fixed. This means that the issue has been addressed in the current development build and will likely be in the next update.
