This isn't related to the recent contest. I've just been sitting on it for while. Much of the art isn't done, but I feel pretty good about the gameplay.

Stats:

  • Hunger - 130 *
  • Health - 50 *
  • Sanity - 120

Features:

  • Increased Hunger rate
  • Rapidly loses sanity when very hungry (about three points after "I'm so hungry")
  • Food is slightly more beneficial.
  • Balancing your meat and veggie intake will yield long term benefits.
  • When threatened, doesn't give up easily.

* Wumala gradually improves her stats by eating a balanced diet of meat and vegetables. This works similarly to WX78 and gears, but much slower, with a much more accessible source.

Changelog:

v0.6.0
* Moved around strings a bunch.
* Fiddled a little with hunger mechanics.
* Drafting a couple experimental components. (usesammo and ammo)
* Added a recipe tab. (sort of)
* Added Bow Sling Thing.

v0.5.0
* Adjusted hair.
* Reworked food & eating: (Flowers were too OP)
  - Short term boost altered.
  - Bonus on-eating food boosts heavily nerfed, and
  - balancing your diet (meat and veggies) and managing sanity is now necessary to maximize long term boosts.
  - Removed the blanket 2 point bonus satiation.

EDIT: Updated to version 0.6.5 on steam workshop.

New Item: Bow Sling Thing

  Use this item (weapon) to throw extra twigs, stingers, and pinecones from the main inventory. To stockpile any of those, keep them in a backpack. Currently does less damage than an axe, and more than a torch.

Sounds interesting, though I will say all vegetables seems a bit easy.

I've come to the same conclusion. It helped when testing the feature, but petals are actually super easy to get early on and probably shouldn't give equal benefits.
