Why does winter start on day 13 for me?

So I got don’t starve on the switch and logged on to reign of giants. I was doing good but then it started snowing on day 13. Isn’t it supposed to snow on day 21? So I looked on the wiki and it said that winter started on day 21. So is this a glitch or intentional? Also I had my game preset to start on autumn.

Did you possibly change the season length settings when you were creating the world? Sounds like you may have made either all seasons "short", or Autumn specifically. Or, if you set season length to "random" by accident, that can cause the number of days to change among all the seasons.

 

Alternately, did you happen to find a set piece called the "Icebox Trap", and opened up the chest? That will trigger Winter immediately. IIRC, that triggered Winter lasts for 10 days before reverting to whatever the current season should be based on day count.
