dry season is my favorite season I swear.

I appeased the altar, and the next day an eruption struck without warning.

That's probably because the altar forgets your appeasements after leaving the volcano.

From here on then I'll stick to dodging the meteors. It's always five segments after the most intense  tremor, which can be the second or third tremor depending to how many days have passed in Dry Season.

Honestly, tho, dry season is still the best season for me just because of the Work Theme and because of the coffee and Elephant Cacti growth..

But you wanna know what's worse than an eruption?

A night eruption.

you literally do not have any idea where the next meteors land unless you have keen enough eyesight to spot the shadow of one falling onto you in the gloom. And the best I did was keep moving around, until dawn broke and the rain stopped.

On other notes, I've been using the eruptions, the resultant obsidian and the stacks of Joy of Volcanology to my advantage:

Man, just now I realize: It's day 73 and you still don't have any Walking Cane in your inventory...

Anyway: If you want to avoid meteorites falling on your head, just build a Meat Effingy, drop all your items and catch a meteorite. You'll still be alive and won't loose anything except the Meat Effingy.

My method when that happens :

Raw Boat + Iron Wind + Sleek Hat + Coffee + Quackering Ram that you equip and unequip for the speed boost. You will sail faster than the meteorite land and so you can't be strike :encouragement: I am not sure that you need the Quackering Ram if you got the 4 others, as I am not sure that you would need the 4 if you got the Quackering Ram.

I just had so much on my mind, there wasn't any thought to go take down the Quacken or spam the Slot Machine; instead I got Coffee up and running at the first days of summer and I felt confident enough to dodge then.

I'd honestly rather dodge ground meteors to farm the ensuing lava pools and Dragoons, but i'll remember this when I have some Beard Hair to spare, thanks :D

I'll keep this in mind, too. I just don't prioritize taking down Quacken at all hahaha

CHARLIE!!! WHERE'S MY BOAT!?!

20190531221412_1.thumb.jpg.56257e09189a7eb008efbe6f990d35b0.jpg

Long story long:

Spoiler

I played on a server mostly alone, some people continued the world so the next day it didn't reset (yay!) like I expected. So I went to look for the lunar island, but it was summer already when I got ready. No problem, I got thermal, nitre, water balloons, all the goods one can need.

20190531214554_1.thumb.jpg.f62a59d1241000355b1358119cb65348.jpg

Got there in a few days, I could predict its place pretty well. Btw, I still love Wendy's quotes:

quote1.jpg.210e5378b28e286c597fbe882b69560e.jpg

Then at the end of the day my boat must have started smoldering, because I didn't see it (had balloons for this case) and when I got back it was already sunk :( With most of my most important stuff. The loss of the jerkies, thermal stone, fridge and crock pot, stone fruit and its bushes was especially painful.

So I started to get materials for another boat. Worst is, I had to save the grass (for both a mast and endo fires), but at least I got plenty of rocks and logs. And I had to watch out not to starve, good thing the trees spawn 1-2 moon moths, because all the stone bushes were withered.

I also had some time to make the altar and craft some stuff with it, so I didn't have to leave with empty hands, after all.

Then I was ready with my minimalist boat and had to realise that I cannot stear it:

Somehow it was possible to place it at the edge so that it was not in reach. My character was just running towards to it. And I already run out of grass (didn't even have enough for an anchor) ...

But at least I could manually row away. It took a bit and I just went to the nearest coast (quite far from base and my original starting spot), but at least I survived (and didn't even have to abandon ship, yay! :D )

P.S. Did you know that eating a moth gives you 15 enlightenment? I didn't. Dang it. I became the most enlightened being in the world.

Seems like you found the annual secret meeting of the Proudly Annoying Hamlet Mobs Community. Note that the glowfly represent the rabid beetles :cupcake:

So this Rook strayed a bit too far from its setpiece, and in an attempt to hop back he got stuck beind this tree. He is just now standing there, hopping in place, looking happy asf. He doesn't even care if I touched him. I literally touched his nose and he's just hopping, without a care in the world. Never attacked me.

I named him Hoppy. Because it's a mix between hop and happy. He is the happiest, goodest bot.

Here's a cute moment between 2 friends. A girl and her Rook:

Can you try using this command near that area? If you still have the world.

print(GetPlayer().Transform:GetWorldPosition())

I think it's likely that this is 0,0, the very center of your world. Sometimes, when an entity doesn't know what it's supposed to be doing or where it's supposed to be, it'll show up at 0,0. I've had royal guards and lost totems there before.

So I connected my hamlet world to RoG and I saw this

20190603023622_1.thumb.jpg.00ff1db3b8421f42474e6028739da6a8.jpg

A lot of small birds hatched

They start to starve when you are in their screen and of course their mother don't give a damn.

They die eventually :( how sad.

I often saw their mother killing them by coconutting their poor head with a mighty beak strike. I don't know what is the worst :indecisiveness:
