No Fullscreen in Windows XP since version 222215

Hello. Since the moment when updater updated my game to version 222215, fullscreen stopped working.

I am using Windows XP, 32 bit. And I have a feeling, that game stopped treating settings.ini (doesn't matter if I change fullscreen to true or false - game is always in windowed mode). Also it doesn't list my old save files in menu.

I reported it on Steam forums, but no one replied.

You should be able to change your game to fullscreen by modifying your settings.ini file to force the game to do so. In order to access your settings.ini file, you will have to go to your documents folder at \Documents\Klei\DoNotStarve\settings.ini

Once there, open the settings.ini file with a text editor (such as notepad), change "fullscreen = false" to "fullscreen = true" and change the fullscreen width and height to your desired resolution and you should be good to go. 

Save the file once you are finished with the settings changes, then run Don't Starve.

I do not have folder called "Documents". In Windows XP it is called "Documents and Settings".

The file you mentioned, earlier (before 222215 update) was located at:

C:\Documents and Settings\Vimko\My Documents\Klei\DoNotStarve\

I do not know what happened with this update, but changing this (fullscreen option) from false to true and vice versa doesn't work anymore.

I even have deleted settings.ini and game didn't recreated it after launching it, which proves my point that game stopped treating settings.ini (or game doesn't visit this folder (C:\Documents and Settings\...\DoNotStarve\settings.ini), but tries to visit "Documents" folder instead (which doesn't exist on WindowsXP), i.e. Windows XP support was dropped).

Log file doesn't change too, which proves my theory again. Game abandoned it's WinXP directory and looks for settings file and savegame files somewhere else.

I have to remind you that after update game doesn't see savegames I had. And it doesn't create new worlds (kicks me back to menu).

Never had problems earlier after updating the game. You have messed up something with Windows XP support.

The only thing that works now is the menu.
