Paxtonnnn 4206 Report post Posted January 22, 2017 (edited) The following text is by @Youknowwho. ~THE CIRCUS~ /////////////////////////// “Ladies and Gentlemen, gather round, gather round, the circus is in town!” It’s been 24 years since the robotic uprising. Elephants no longer exist. Which is a bit of a problem, because like 35% of robots just happen to run on elephant tusks, and artificial ones are considered hipstery. But no matter what a robot runs on, turns out that if you’re a robot, you’re good with computers. And turns out if you’re good with computers, you’re good at hacking into government's weapon systems. Turns out if you can do that, you pretty much got the world in your metal grasp. Unfortunately, if you’re a robot, you also can’t feel or smell. That’s unfortunate. But hey, you’ve taken over the world! Human resistances are almost completely demolished, and the world has been mostly bombed to oblivion, or taken over by our metal overlords. Sickness and mutation are common, and life overall isn’t very happy. Lots of people go to banditry But in times of stress and hardship, the best thing you can do is band together. Settlements cover the radioactive wastelands. It’s usually peaceful, that is if they’re not in the completely uninhabitable radioactive sand dunes. People learn, grow, share stories of the wasteland, and overall, survive there, that is, if food isn’t scarce. But there is one threat that plague these camps, and any lone survivors from thriving for too long. The Circus. Round and round, the heavily protected Circus train goes, picking up organic living creatures from around the world and taking them to a large prison like building, where they will live until called to battle to the death for amusement and energy.. For whatever reason, you’re on this train. The Circus is a Prison Escape Gladiator roleplay in a world taken place in a world where robots rule the earth and elephants don’t exist! You who enter will be taken around on a train ride, where you will introduce your competitors, and then taken to a horrible prisony place. Robo guards bursting at the seams and food that’ll probably kill you quicker than starving to death It’s not such a fun place. Every day some of you in cellblock B5 will be called out to come perform in a match A fight to the death. Luckily, all of you just so happen to be put in cellblock B5 together Which is nice, because if two of you go out there, you’ll get to form a team But you can still kill one another Not going to stop you there. [Note, you can probably not kill another PC without permission in there. NPCs however, can be called with you, and can be killed in matches. Outside matches, they can also be horribly murdered.] If you keep winning, you’ll be rewarded So give it all you got to end the life of your fellow man! The Circus is a Prison Escape Gladiator Robot Roleplay. Not sure if that genre exists. Created and shaped by me, and @YouKnowWho You will be placed in the Circus tent and be made to go through the very tight schedule [Robots like to be on time] while some of you are called out and forcefully taken to kill people from other cell blocks to avoid being killed, and to earn some snazzy upgrades on their cell! If you have any questions please ask ~RULES~ 1.Don’t be too overpowered 2. Respect other players and ask permission before ending their lives 3. Beating the crap out of them is okay though 4.But it’s mean and hurts a lot and makes them sads 5. Try to make your posts longer than a sentence 6. Don’t join in the roleplay before your character gets accepted 7. Fill out the forums completely 8. Be nice 9. Have the fun times 10. yay CHARACTER FORM BELOW Name: Race: Mutations: History (if you want to keep a secret, that's fine.): Personality: Appearance: Strengths: Weaknesses: Etc [Contraband will be confiscated]: Current List of Characters @Youknowwho Spoiler Name: THE SAND KING Race: Mr. Roboto Mutations: Slightly radioactive, but otherwise, is a robot. History (if you want to keep a secret, that's fine.): The sand king used to be a respectable robot guard on the wonderful Circus Train. Unfortunately, he was flung off by complete accident and landed into a radioactive sand dune. When he returned, they deemed him too defective to continue being a guard, and threw him on the train along with the other prisoners. He begged to differ. He felt… powerful... Personality: Robot. Usually Aggressive and doesn’t care much for anything really. Has some feelings though, but he’ll probably try and cover them up Appearance: Strengths: Is filled with radioactive sand he can spew at his enemies. Has enhanced senses besides touch and smell. Durable. Has knowledge on robotic workings. Has a built in welding mask and a fancy shmancy coat. Pretty strong. Weaknesses: Is filled with radioactive sand that slowly degrade his body making him get weaker and weaker as time goes on. Decreased Morale. Really aggressive towards other robots. Rusty joints. Doesn’t care much for humans Either Etc [Contraband will be confiscated]: Has lots of radioactive sand bouncing around inside him. @Paxtonnnn Spoiler Name: Kertenkele (Nicknamed “Ker”) Race: Chameleon Human (Chameleman) History (if you want to keep a secret, that's fine.): Unknown because I’m incompetent. Personality: Curious, friendly, but not the smartest. Appearance: Strengths: Fast on all fours. Can blend in with his surroundings. Sneaky. Has a long tongue. Can eat radioactive food. Has an increased sense of surrounding. Has a wicked cool tail that can curl up around things. Has a good grip Weaknesses: Isn’t the brightest. Only uses small words. Tail can get in the way. Doesn’t know much about human standards. Usually confused @Donke60 Spoiler Name: Jason (the Jester) Race:Human Mutations:Warped mind History (if you want to keep a secret, that's fine.): When Jason heard a circus was in the wasteland he jumped at the oppertunity as he could gain rements of his old life back. However once he arrived he was mistook as a combantant with his weird attire and has been fighting in the circus for 2 years. Killing people and robots alike has made him slightly insane. Personality: His warped mine has made him treat "The Circus" as a game and has no morality for right and wrong leaving hard desicions on something as simple as a dice roll. Though if pushed to his limit he will do anything to kill his targets or complete a mission. Appearance:red and purple suit, bells slippers, golden phantom mask. red and purple 4 prong jester hat Strengths:agile, experinced fighter, quick, reasourcefule Weaknesses: gullible, loves games, questionable mental health Etc [Contraband will be confiscated]:weaponize box of festivities, weapons' lute and shotel 20-sided die @~Matt Spoiler Name: Stanislaw Anelipsy Race: Anthropomorphic dream. Mutations: None. All characteristics hail from race. History: Machines were mice and men were lions, once upon a time. But now that it's the opposite, it's twice upon a time. Twice upon a time, a couple of frustrated writers wanted a child, their last grasp for meaning in a failed life. As writers go, however, their hopes were high and therefore not met by the children in the orphanage, so together they dreamed a shared dream, a dream that like a child of their exclusive combination of genes would be exclusively theirs. From this dream they first upon a time dreamed, Anelipsy was born in their image of the perfect twelve years old, and from this dream they first upon a time dreamed, Anelipsy was pulled into a realm outside of dreams. Inexperience leads to failure, though, and poor little Anelipsy was birthed into material reality with the core of a human child but the shell of a dream, human organs held in place by oneiric matter. At first, when poor little Anelipsy was still a recent dream, his oneiric body parts functioned identically to organic ones. However, as his parents became disillusioned by their new routines and the resent poor little Anelipsy kept of them, their dream started falling apart, which caused poor little Anelipsy's oneiric matter to progressively grow closer to the mists of dreaming rather than the intricacy of materiality. In time, his existence started being constantly forgotten by the parents, and he knew soon they would not only stop dreaming of him completely, but also forget that he was ever a dream of theirs. With that, his oneiric matter would have no sense for existing and dissipate. He could feel it preparing for that. In a less urgent matter that shortly would become crucial, his material organs slowly started wasting away, a product of his veins becoming each at a time dream mist instead of the precise imitation of human veins they once were. You see, poor little Anelipsy feared death. He saw his existence drawing closer to oblivion, not the dream lands he held dear. In a night of despair, poor little Anelipsy figured out how to be poor and little no more. He realised his whole existence was purposeful. All characteristics of his were what the parents wanted him to be. The want of the parents, though, had a weakness. They wanted their child to be human, but his humanity led to resentment, and his humanity would lead to liberation. Out of the willpower that can only be found in the deepest despair, Stanislaw Anelipsy discovered he could dream himself, and as long as the parents' dream didn't exist anymore, he was not bound to their wants. As best as he could, Anelipsy recreated his insides like they were when he was first dreamt. Suddenly, he was hungry. Throughout the rest of that night, Anelipsy fed, emptying the house's food reserves and adapting his oneiric matter to conduce his bodily fluids and anything he ingested as he saw best. While his organs recovered, he stayed in the parents' house, hiding as they were awake and watching satisfied as they completely forgot him. When time came, he robbed what money they had left and fled the house. His form now resembled an eighteen years old person, but as he experienced the world outside of his past routines and realised how superfluous aging as a normal human was, his oneiric matter came to resemble a man around thirty years old. Until the robotic takeover, he worked with costume production, where he acquired a love for crafting masks. When he was taken to the Circus train, Anelipsy had with him a Noh mask. Personality: Tranquil and distant. Fond of experimenting. Appearance: Most commonly wears the form of the thin white duke. Strengths: Can change appearance (but never to anything not humanoid); Ageless body, permanently on physical prime (organs still age); Costume making skills can be useful to the team; Good with sharp tools; Intelligent. Weaknesses: Still sensitive about elephants (they used to be his favourite animal); Sustains brain damage from his malnutrition period; Distrusting and excessively reserved; Prideful, greedy and lustful. Etc: Noh mask. @Sketched_Philo Spoiler Race: Human Mutations: Altered hair, voice, and tissue. Living adornment. History (if you want to keep a secret, that's fine.): Mandra had been a forager all her life, collecting herbs, plants, and fungi for sustenance. This gave her more knowledge than most thriving on them. The withered flower she wears in her hair became reanimated by mutation at one point. She has only been on the train for about a month, and hasn’t been in a fight yet. Personality: Becomes easily excited and panicked. Naturally curious. Is timid towards strangers. The adornment is a simple plant with simple thoughts. Bloodshed and suffering. Appearance: Wears a withered, once red and yellow flower adornment on her messy, dirty hair. Her skin is pale, her hair a dark, mossy green, and her breath smells foul, the first two as a result of her exposure to radioactive material, and the latter due to her diet of mushrooms and moss. She has a raspy, dry voice, further accentuated by the exposure to harmful radiation. Strengths: As food was scarce in her settlement, Mandra had experience with eating anything she could find. Because of this, she is experienced eating and preparing various mushrooms and plants. She thrives on the moss and mushrooms that come from the corpses of the fallen and deplorable living conditions of the train. She’d rather eat these than to eat the disgusting robot-made food. Not disgusted by raw meat. Though withered, the flower she wears in her hair is…”alive”, thanks to mutation. The adornment can whisper. Weaknesses: The adornment can whisper. Isn’t aware of the life in her adornment (which isn’t exactly benign to begin with).Though Mandra wouldn’t mind to taste the meat of other humans, she would have to kill one first...no small feat. She has no prior combat experience whatsoever. Mentally unstable, which leads to easy manipulation from the adornment. Has trouble sleeping. Walks barefoot, so broken glass will probably cripple her forever. Doesn’t know what an elephant is. Etc. [Contraband will be confiscated]: Carries a small shovel (hand sized), and a plastic zipper bag where she stores mushrooms, plant matter, and moss. At least one of them must be useful, right? @DwerBomb Spoiler Name: unnamed Race: wasteplasmisis (named like that because in the early days when they were still in their early development as a species, controlling oil waste, they were thought to be ghosts oozing here and there. theyre not really ghosts they are just very weird worms that evolved quickly in human waste) Mutations: she is a mutation in herself, also looks female but is actually asexual History: (if you want to keep a secret, that's fine.): probably the most advanced of the wasteplasmisis, showiing a humanoid shape never observed before. wasteplasmisis have changed forms a lot during the last century, starting as very soft and squishy sea cucomber-like worms to hexapod creatures resembling big cockroaces. although they live consuming organic waste and absorbing light, studies also show that they may be able to eat other living creatures and extract their genetic material in the process of digestion. this may be what causes mutations in the new generations of these creatures. in her case, she was kept in custody for studies by some human resistence group, but the base was attacked and she managed to escape. Personality: very curious, but fairly limited in intellectual abilitiest. likes to dance and splash her toxic liquid around. doesn't talk Appearance: [disclaimer: appearance may slighly change in the future] Hide contents Strengths: her body is completely toxic. she can control the density of her "skin" to spatter it around only when necessary. she can change the conformation of the liquid inside her: the clear cyan goo has similiar properties to our saliva, and is the non-toxic part of her essence. she can change it into a very bright pink goo, which withdrawals the toxins from her outside to concentrate them inside. this goo is used to capture and digest her preys, corroding them to make their absorption easier. when in this state, the outside goo becomes almost non-toxic, unless ingested. she can also loose her shape, and in this goo form she's much slower and fragile but can escape easily through small passages. transformation isn't fast Weaknesses: altough any damage to her structure is very easily fixed, her vital organs are irreplaceable. the body is a structure of organic waste and fluids controlled by an internal structure, which is unique to each wasteplasmisis. in this case, her structure vaguely resembles a neural system with the gooswitch pump (the one that changes properties to her goo) placed in the middle of her torso. Etc [Contraband will be confiscated]: none @Zeklo Spoiler Name: Victor Nickname: “Candyman”, “Vyktr” Race: Human, around 23~ Mutations: Victor’s only visible mutation is his six fingered hands. Though he also suffers from Ageusia, “the loss of taste functions of the tongue, particularly the inability to detect sweetness, sourness, bitterness, saltiness, and umami (meaning "pleasant/savory taste")”, Allochiria, “a neurological disorder in which the patient responds to stimuli presented to one side of their body as if the stimuli had been presented at the opposite side”, as well as painfully sensitive hearing. History: Unknown Personality: While violence isn’t their first course of action, Victor will quickly turn to it if other means prove ineffective. Threatening, blackmailing, and generally playing dirty is all up there alley. They hold their own well-being above others, and have no issue doing anything that will guarantee their survival. This fact comes with one exception: children. Victor’s personality seems to shift when around children. His more violent nature tends to peel away towards everyone, as he censors his own actions for the sake of the children. Afterall, think of the children. This isn’t to say, he won’t still use violence if it is for the sake of protecting any child’s well-being, because he certainly will. Appearance: Hide contents This image is slightly outdated Victor is a relatively tall man with a thin frame. His face is covered by a sharp edged smiley-face mask, and his head is capped with a hand-stitched patchwork top hat with a heart on it. Some messy brown hair is visible from the back of his head, and a pair of headphones rest over each ear. They wear a stylish furry leather coat left unzipped, and long baggy cargo pants. Around each of their forearms are bracers wrapped in barbed wire leading into their hands fitted in boxing gloves. These boxing gloves have outcropping metal from brass knuckles worn beneath. His foot attire consists of strap-on shoes mounted with sharp terrain-traversing spikes. Strengths/Weaknesses: Victor is almost always armed with a metal golf club. Along with his brass knuckle boxing gloves, these are his weapon of choice. His mental afflictions are both harmful and helpful when fully realized. His Allochiria can allow a wounded limb to act at relative fully capability despite injuries due to the corresponding opposing limb being the one to receive painful stimulus. Though this comes at the cost of potentially causing permanent damage. His extremely sensitive hearing, can also be a plus, as he can hear better than most at the cost of immediate pain. This ability is more useful when outside of combat when being immobilized wouldn’t come as a drawback. Otherwise he wears his headphones to muffle surrounding sounds. He is also very flexible and nimble. Excessive sugar intake has a strange effect on them... Etc: Can’t spell or read well. Has a coat full of various candies and stickers. Presumably all metal and sharp items were confiscated. Edited February 2, 2017 by Paxtonnnn

DragonMage156 27714 Report post Posted January 22, 2017 This is like Mafia x10 also, seems like a robotic version of We Remain except the enemy is highly intelligent robots. I have some questions though: What do the robots run on if elephants are extinct? And if our character gets killed, can we enter another one?

They're melted down and used like a gasoline. There is artificial ones, but they're considered hipstery. So there's still some tusk fuel, but most are converting to the new stuff. 2. Yep! Of course!
