Caves Should be Saved Upon Shipwrecked/Forest Merge

Recommended Posts

I don't know if it's intended or not (probably not), but when one uses the Seaworthy on an already-existing world and tries to enter a cave they've been through before, the whole cave regenerates its layout! While this does lead to some extra loot (and houndiui shootiui), I'm not sure if it's plausible for caves to just change their environment if someone else enters it... unless caves are an environmental hallucination, and everyone sees them differently. Klei, when you have the time, do you think you can sort this function out (unless it's intended)? It'd be nice to keep the familiar forest islands as well as the familiar caves.

Paging @Bryce on this. Also it seems like caves regen even when using the tropical teleportato in SW (aka world hoping in SW, not RoG), which is...weird.

That's a feature. They confirmed it.

How is that even a feature? That sounds more like something they cannot fix.

Maybe you could make a back up of your caves save files and then put them back after you world hop.

Source?

If you mean this, then it's being talked about world jumping only affecting the current world (" ex: world hopping in rog world doesn't affect shipwrecked side ") and not the other one (SW affecting caves).
