Jaw's size doubles, then quadruples, and continues and continues to increase until his head starts to scrape the top of the Root's stomach.  The creature growls in confusion and pain, ceasing its attack on the crew to turn its attention towards its stomach.

It doesn't take Jaw much effort to deal a lot of damage, considering his size.  Translucent cyan blood rains down on then both, accompanied by bits of the Root's flesh.  It screams in agony, flailing around in a fashion similar to Niella.  It uselessly claws at its chest with its tentacles.

Jaw is set into a destruction spree, himitating godzilla...well, not really, as he has no idea what that is. He stomps, roars, bites, hyper beams from his mouth

Stuff smashes onto his head and fin but the adrenaline makes him ignore any pain

Jaw tears his way clear through the Root's side, bursting out of its chest like something from a horror movie.  The monster's screams are drowned out by his own, and it collapses to the ground with an impact that shakes the whole island.  The entire landmass starts to break apart and fall into Niella's whirlpool.

"F-foolssss...y-you cannot slay me..."  the Root says weakly.  It manages to lift its head up, and unleashes a badly-aimed blast which cleaves through the crumbling earth.

(My post became really short XD)

Otto was met with daylight and was blinded for a brief moment. "Finally! I'm out of that fleshy dump! And look at that, my plan to take him down from the inside worked! Just not as I originally expected..."

The Root lay on the ground, hissing at them "y-you cannot slay me".

"Oh really!" Otto shouted back "Cos I think we just did!"

Not really though.  The Root's flesh is still growing back, its life sustained by the Ring Thing.  It slowly starts to regain its composure, significantly slowed down by Jaw's tearing.

Meri manages to stave off the pyrosomes for a moment, and quickly surveys the situation.  The Ring was just going to keep healing the Root, but with its head close to the ground there might be a solution.

He looks to the colorfully-dressed human.  He had seen them survive flying through the air on fire once before; perhaps they could do so again.  He reaches across the island and snatches them up.

"Listen...carefully.  I am going to throw...you at the Sun.  You must...grab the Ring.  This is our only chance."

Without waiting for a reaction, he hurls him towards the red, crackling star.

He completely misses

The Root never even sees it coming.  Syndir flies through the tangled mess of pyrosomes and tentacles, and slams straight into the Ring, which promptly fries him like a fish before it gets knocked off the Root's head.  Once separated from its hovering position above the monster's brow, the heat and lightning emanating from it cease, and both it and Syndir plummet into the ocean.

The Root wails in agony as its life is suddenly cut short by the absence of its healing powers.  Suddenly, the once-negligible wounds from fire, slicing, and Jaw's tearing are amplified tenfold.  It lets out a choked scream, coughing up copious amounts of its own blood as the blue glow of its skin rapidly fades.  It slowly turns to a dead, pale gray color, its cartilage skeleton poking through its body as it shrivels up like a leaf in autumn.  The pyrosomes follow suit as the creature's remains sink into the sea, until all that's left is a swarm of bubbles popping on the surface.

Spoiler

It had all happened so fast, and yet things seemed like they would never end. First it was the powerful wind that opposed him as his body soared forward. It's strength was formidable, but his body held up, and it was oh so cold. The cold didn't last long though, for the closer he got to his destination the warmer it got. It wasn't long before this warmth turned to heat, and then pain. Not an unfamiliar pain, it was nostalgic if anything. It reminded him of that very same fateful day that ended him up where he was today.

What an awful day that was. He had been minding his own business and searching for the vibrant plants that bloomed at the volcano's peak. Whether he had slipped, was pushed, or simply chose to walk off the outcome remained the same. He didn't die, and for once he was grateful. For as if by fate, his destiny would intercept those of this very crew. A colorful assortment whom he would call friends. Friends whom he had shared hardships with. Friends whom he had shared laughs with. Friends whom he had turned his back on.... Just like his brother.

When he had collided with the object of power his entire body had gone numb—it wasn't exactly an accurate description but there was no feeling like it. The water would be upon him soon. This was his lifeline, and it very well might be everyone else's too. He pulled the thing into a desperate sorrowful embrace, refusing to let it go. For what little it was worth, perhaps it could be a means to redeem his blinded choices. The still moment was quickly shattered as his body broke through the water. Or was it his body that had broke? It made no difference. He was sinking, and he was taking the ring with him.

There was no denying that he enjoyed their time together, with these shipwrecked people, but it was also harder to pretend. To pretend he was someone else. Someone not burdened by the past. Truly, the only one he was fooling was himself, but to go as far as to jeopardize their lives was truly unthinkable. Perhaps in that moment, he truly had became someone else. Not anyone he wanted to be. He could see that now, but far too late.

Soon his whole world became one of water. The surface becoming more and more of a hopeful dream. The last time he had been in a situation like this he had failed. He had failed so miserably he had chose to forget. It was a selfish act, but he wouldn't make the same mistake. He always weighed people down, and the person he was weighing down now was the only one capable of floating. That's the thing with certain kinds of igneous rock, they float.

Wait—

But it was far too late. He had slipped the ring onto one of his mask's horns and let them go...

In the midst of all of the confusion and utter chaos, Nadas remembers the teachings of her old master, to find tranquility in times o--

"THE SHAMAN!" she chirps and then attempts to go after the falling human, which just collided into the water with tremendous force. The pain, she could even feel it in her bones! Oh, but the dragon was also wounded, and very much so. And what about the others that were surely trying to escape the grasps of the crumbling earth?! That, coupled with the fact that the island was sinking, left her with little choices. "I am supposed to be a physician, I am supposed to save lives..." the underside of her head swelled a bit with every tense breath she took. She had to decide, and she opted to believe that she could save both the dragoness and the fallen shaman if she tried.

Therefore, blindly, the gecko quickly darted towards the water and, with what little strength she could muster, attempted to swim after Syndir, diving. She knew the dangers, but a fellow companion was in danger as well. She could at least attempt... Attempt to be useful for once.

She tried to follow what little light remained of the glowing star thing, using that as a guide.

Syndir and his mask are caught in the currents of the whirlpool, which slowly starts to drag them both in.  The island is still crumbling, and massive chunks of disintegrating rock swirl past them.  There's also Niella herself to worry about, who is still flailing and screaming and smashing at the water with her claws.  It'd probably be ideal to get Syndir away from that.

The crew themselves aren't out of the woods yet, either.  The island is almost gone, and soon they'll be in the same predicament as Syndir.

The crumbling earth and mixed currents made it almost impossible to swim properly underwater, and Nadas did not have the advantage of the greater sea serpents, rendering her swimming speed incredibly handicapped. To top that out, the light was almost null, and the deeper she went the more the pressure started to bother her. Also, the whirlpool that apparently she did not oversee was now beginning to suck her in as well.

No.

No, she can't stop now. Why is this happening?
Nadas stopped immediately and pulled herself back a few inches, instinct telling her that if she continued she'd drown as well.
She kept a straight, solid expression, staring at the sinking human. No. No time to think; limited time. Limited air.

She pressed on, she wanted to. She dived deeper, the currents of the whirlpool inviting her to dwell into the depths along with the human, so be it... She reaches a hand out, eyes furrowed...

We... Survive...

Before Nadas reaches Syndir, Meri swoops in from the side, and grabs them both in his claws.  He quickly starts swimming to the surface, hoping he reaches it before they both drown...

(Also there is a Discord for WaW members now. Just putting it here in case you don't read the Skype group. https://discord.gg/GwEPnKK)

All of the house looked the same covered in fire. The only time she could definitely tell where she was was and where she was going was when she nearly fell down the stairs to the first floor. Time seemed to drag on forever as she rounded corners and circled dead end rooms in a daze, her eyes stinging more and breathing becoming harder as the moments went by.
Eventually she reached a door. It took a lot of effort, but she eventually worked it open, and cool night air rushed it's way in as she tumbled out. She tried to go further, but didn't get very far before collapsing on the grass in a gasping mess. The house creaked and groaned and crackled behind her. As her vision started blacking out, she could just make out a figure running towards her, and the name he was calling. "KATE!"

"KATE!... KATE!" With the memory finished, Kate's senses were brought back to reality. Kade was yelling at her. She could still feel the fire all around her. She knew her eyes were open, but she couldn't see anything but darkness, and they hurt. They hurt a lot.

"Kate, listen to me! You have to stop the fire! The island is crumbling; everyone's running out of room!"

After a moment the inferno receded about an inch, but quickly bounced right back. "I-I ca-an't!" she shouted back between gasps for air. It was hard to breathe.

"Yes you can! You just shot giant fireballs and a fire beam at a sea monster, you can do this! You have to!" She had to. She knew now that she hadn't been the one responsible for her parent's death, but they were gone now. If she didn't learn to get this under control, she'd be responsible for hurting the people who were still here, who she cared about; Noctimus, Wiffleball, her family. Mustering her strength and will, she forced her fire upward, funneling it up and up until it finally dissipated.

With the fire no longer cloaking her, Kate's condition could now be seen. It appeared she wasn't completely immune the flame after all. Her hair was singed off down to her scalp, her skin took on a slightly red hue, and her eyes had further grayed over. Her clothes remained somehow mostly intact though for obvious reasons. She took a step forward before collapsing, her descent slowed by Kade as she lost consciousness.
