Wave after Wave

Trevor finally got to his senses and wiped his eyes with his coat. He could now see somebody holding up a orange plush rabbit with a small dog waiting patiently beside them. This was the first human he's seen sense about five minutes ago, so he decided he should at least introduce himself. "Why er... hello there! Name's Trevor! Listen, do you have any idea on where we are or how to get outta here?" he said cheerfully, offering a handshake.

"Welp, looks like we're going to have to work together then!" Trevor said as he sprung to his feet. He was delighted to know that the journey to home wouldn't be a lonely one. "We better focus on getting materials for a fire. It gets really cold near the ocean, trust me."

Kate slowly opened her eyes. She was laying backside up on the ground, but this ground felt different from dirt, and it was the wrong color. "Kate, you're awake!" (Kade speaks in hands italics) She could make out the figure of her brother leaning over her. Letting out a groan, she pushed herself up on her knees and looked around in confusion. There was sand under her, green and brown shapes a little ways in front of her, and behind her there was... blue? The sound of waves? "Where... are we? How the heck did we get on a beach?!" Kade said, echoing her thoughts.

Kate froze. She heard faint barking and snarling, but she couldn't tell what direction it was coming from. "Dogs, and they don't sound friendly." she could make out Kade standing up. "I don't think they're coming towards us. If we can't tell where they are we should stay here so we don't run into them."

"I'll focus on getting food, you can work on the fire." Trevor didn't really care if this person didn't agree to his plan, but he'd rather take a load off his mind and relieve some stress by fishing. He sat down near the water and threw out his line hoping to catch something bigger than a sardine. It felt relaxing to be fishing again.

Famen shrugged and started scavenging the middle of the island, which was loaded with grass, bamboo, vines, twigs and trees. He found a piece of flint, made an axe and got to chopping the nearest tree. After what seemed like endless amounts of chopping, he knocked down the colossal tree. Famen collected the wood, got some grass and set up a small fire. Afterward, Famen heard some snarling and barking in the distance. "Hey, Trevor, you heard that?"

Gyx swam for hours, before he spotted a confused looking girl on land. Having done nothing but swim in a straight line, he thought It'd be funny to freak the hell out of her. He started by staring at her from the shore behind her, while breathing extra loudly.

From the inside of Famen's backpack, Wiffleball tried its best to keep calm. First the hounds, then this? Out of the frying pan and into the fire. Already, it had been injured when the point of a knife got caught on its leg, ripping a small gash. Almost all of the contraptions in the backpack were unfamiliar to him, but the knife was something he recognized as soon as he felt it. A knife meant doom. He wanted nothing more than to get out of there and away from it all. Maybe, just maybe, if the backpack was set down, he could crawl out unnoticed...that is, if his trembling didn't betray him first.

Kate could hear the barking and snarling coming closer. "Kate, we need to move." her broher urged. The sudden sound of heavy breathing from behind startled her, making her jump up just as something she couldn't recognise darted past. The sound of their paws pounding the sand was audible now. "RUN!" She darted in the direction the thing had gone in, running along the edge of the beach. Her child sized legs would only go so fast though. It was only a matter of time before the hounds caught up.

Name: Meritursas

meritursas.png.7fa58b841dd8b7a842df97529

History (if you want to keep a secret, that's fine.):

Personality: Meritursas exists pretty much just to destroy and devour everything it comes across.  It regards pretty much everything with distain, rarely acknowledging the fact that it is taking lives.

Appearance:

meritursas_full.png.a4347377d15503c4fa18

Meritursas rarely uses its eyes, instead relying on dozens of tendrils to "taste" the water, hunting much like a snake would.  These tendrils can also be used to snatch up food, and drag its body across the ground if necessary.

Strengths:

Really, REALLY big (147 feet long).  Can't breathe on land, but can store up to 45 minutes worth of air.

Weaknesses:

Really, REALLY big.  Mertursas can only operate properly in the deepest parts of the ocean; everywhere else it's practically capsized.  It can use its tendrils to move at about a walking pace in medium depths, but anything beyond that is outside its reach.  It is also easily bribed.

Bring on the tweaking.

The hounds seemed to have been distracted by something. It was the right moment for his counterattack. He jumps on the back of one and digs his teeth inside the meat. Jaw then runs up to another hound, and bites it's leg, while punching it. The hound has time to deliver a bite on the Sea-hound, but nothing too serious. He got it down too, with now only 2 remaining. Jaw looks in the distance to find them, and sees they were running for Kate. Sprinting, he tackles one and starts punching and biting the hound.

(So that character's only purpose is to destroy anything that comes in the water? I'm not sure that's such a good idea, Battal. Since you have to ask permission to kill off someone's character, and I'm sure no one wants to die just yet, you'd constantly have to come up with bullspitty excuses for not destroying them. Plus you're pretty much confined to deep water, so you'd have to wait until someone actually got out there before you could even do much. I understand if you want to make this huge boss for us to fight sometime down the road, but for this to be your only and main character would probably make you bored pretty quickly.)

Hearing all the commotion and yelping behind her, Kate started to turn her head to see what was going on. "KEEP RUNNING!" She shook her head slightly and kept facing forward. It was a bad idea to look behind you while you're running.

Trevor knew exactly why it was a terrible idea to not look where you are going. He hoped this child would also take the lesson by heart after she crashed into him. He fell backwards after a high pitched scream.

Going after that last one hound, he throws a rock at it. The beast starts barking and running towards the Sea-hound, and got closer and closer, until...

"*battle scream*"

*digs teeth inside the monster*

The carnage of hounds finally ended, leaving the sand around Jaw full of monster meat and some teeth.

This food will be enough for a while

Unfortunately, Kate hadn't looked back in front of her in time to stop herself from running smack into something. She scrambled in blind confusion and fear as she heard a terrifying roar behind her, but she didn't get very far before crumbling into a quivering, panting little ball in the sand. She was hungry, exhausted, confused, and scared. Where ever this place was, she didn't like it at all.

Jaw lifts his head from the prey. He noticed something on the sand. A creature perhaps?

Walking on all four he approaches the thing and then pokes it.

(Jaw has eaten, so he won't be violent)

Trevor woke up from his dazed state and saw the walking shark poking the little girl. He was terrified. He desperately grabbed a small rock beside him and threw it behind the shark in hopes it would be distracted long enough for him to pick up the girl and run.

Kate, startled by the poke, yelped and scrambled to an upright position. All she could see was an orangey things bent over in front of her and a human figure behind it. She just looked at the two of them, not sure what to make of all this. Kade stood defensively beside her.
