So am I saying what the batter did was right? No. But the batter is not to blame. He only exists to purify the world (the saviour): he couldn't control his own fate and had to go through his "sacred quest". So, who is to blame? Maybe Hugo. As a child, his ability to rule over his own world is not good enough.

You're right about not blaming the Batter. Still, the question is intact. Is he a bad character or not? When you choose to help the Judge, who's probably the only sane Protector left in the entire world, you can see the Batter's (real) form, a seemingly disturbing and monster-like creature. The Batter is not to blame. So was it his fate to be purified in the end too?

But actually it's all fault of the space monkeys

Darned space monkeys!

actually, evil batter is not his real form. It's all about prospective. As Mortis Ghost staded, evil batter is how the judge sees the batter: a heartless and scary monster. That brings up many questions though: do all enemies see The Batter as Evil Batter? Sugar for example calls him "a big ducky",and his evil version can remind of a really fucked up duck.

And are the enemies really what they look like in battle? Maybe burnt elsens are just normal elsens who are in panic. But to be honest, I don't see why the enemies wouldn't be what they look like, because 1- we know the guardians really look like that (from The Room), 2- the batter is fully dedicated to his cause, and is objective in doing so and doesn't show signs of emotions. The Batter does not seem to seek the eradication of evil, but rather of unusual behaviour and corruption (he does not defeat, he purifies the enemy) and tries to kill anything that gets in his way to purify the world. The HELP Elsen, for example, was killed because he was in The Batter's way.

Also, yes, his fate was to be purified too. No matter the ending, he'll die anyway (either killed by Pablo or just ceases to exist).

Could you sum it up in short what is it about?

Crying fat guy in pyjamas and his companion Leg horse travel through a land of weird and blood to change the world back to what it used to be, before "the big change" happened
