I have excatly the same issue. Verified files and reinstalled, the game simply doesn't start.

I am running Windows 10 64bit (with the new update)  i5 -4210U, 8GB, Nvidia GT840M. Installed to an SSD.

There was an issue with people updating to Win 10 a while back. The most common solution was to reinstall the redsitributables which can be found in your game's local files.

_CommonRedist\vcredist\2012\vcredist_x64.exe

_CommonRedist\vcredist\2012\vcredist_x86.exe

Other solutions were to make sure the game was using the dedicated video card if you had multiple.

And make sure to check all your drivers that they are up to date for Win 10.

It seems like "_CommonRedist\vcredist\2012\vcredist_x64.exe" did the trick, thanks for the help. :)

It actually only helped for a short period of time, it now crashes during the opening video of the main game.
