Whats the problem with my server?

hey there,

I was trying to create a dedicated server and when I start it I cant seem to find it in the server browser...

thanks for all the help, I can see it in the server browser but when I try to log in it say the server is not responding?

That's impossible... stop trying, it was even clearly mentioned in the guides multiple times e.e

I run only one server and I don't have a slave_log or master_log...

I really don't understand these type of things, I just want to open a server where I can play with my friends...

if you are on windows,

 

you just need to make two scripts (batch file) for one server overworld and one server cave

 

like that:

 

master.bat :

./dontstarve_dedicated_server_nullrenderer -players 15 -conf_dir configs/server
 
slave.bat :
 
./dontstarve_dedicated_server_nullrenderer -players 15 -conf_dir configs/server/DST_Cave

 

if you don't know how make batch file:

just launch the two .bat, first the overworld server and then the server cave, like consecutively

just execute the .bat as software but before that, check tutorial of Ipsquiggle for make your server cave:

Assuming you copy pasted everything from the guide then the bat file closes instantly because it tries to execute the server binary that is not in the directory your executing the bat file from, the bat file should be placed in steamapps\common\Don't Starve Together Dedicated Server\bin and executed from there to work.

 

Alternatively:

This is my start script I'm using for starting overworld and caves servers at the same time with just one bat file: 

@echo offTITLE Don't Starve Together Dedicated Server Launcherset BINPATH="D:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Don't Starve Together Dedicated Server\bin"cd %BINPATH%call dontstarve_dedicated_server_nullrenderer.exe -conf_dir DoNotStarveTogetherServer/cavesbeta -console -only_update_server_modsstart "Don't Starve Together Dedicated Server - Overworld" dontstarve_dedicated_server_nullrenderer.exe -conf_dir DoNotStarveTogetherServer/cavesbeta -console -skip_update_server_modsstart "Don't Starve Together Dedicated Server - Caves" dontstarve_dedicated_server_nullrenderer.exe -conf_dir DoNotStarveTogetherServer/cavesbeta/cavesslave -console -skip_update_server_mods

you will have to replace config_dir with the directories you're using

also you will have to give your full path to the server in BINPATH

it's not better to used two different bat file for each server?

because I see that you put both in the same bat file

 

I say that for performance issue, because this has been recommended by the devs

 

but maybe it's good for you? i mean your opinion is welcome
