More things on the screen, more lag

Steps to reproduce

When arriving or staying at camp/base, game goes laggy/slowmo

Describe your issue

Returning to my camp, I am greeted by lag! Everything goes slowmo as more things appear on the screen, exiting the region cancels the lag.

I know that the lag is caused by multiple objects on the screen, but considering that most of the gameplay is spent around the camp, it's quite unbearable. Here's a picture of my laggy base;
