I noticed a couple other people posting their own artwork in threads here, and since my roommate--a casual gamer nursing a newfound obsession with Invisible Inc--is a fantastic artist, I thought I'd let her share her work through me.

I kind of lost it. Not only has Klei Studios produced some of the best games I've seen, they included LBGT representation in lore. While it's not referenced in game (yet), it makes me so happy to see my favorite bamf ladies in a past/present relationship. I'm LBGT myself and the joy this brings me is indescribable.

So yeah, naturally, I had to draw the Ruby/Sapphire Steven Universe sequence.

You know what? That's awesome. I really appreciate this characterization of the interaction between Banks and Nika. Though what about Internationale and Shalem 11? I don't think they'd get along so well considering one is a social conscious socialist, and the other is an assassin for hire.

no, I mean cyborg who not in game now, not those two (actually it should be Deckard and not Decker then, while Decker should be depicted with Internationale, while Shalem should be depicted with Red, who should be not  Internationale etc) :juggling:

Headcanon: Decker gets the coolest stuff from the weirdest places when he’s plastered.
To answer questions, yes, I do have a blog–but given my wariness of forums in general I won’t give it out at this time. (I did reblog that loopearlier; you did such a good job!) Any Invisible Inc art from me will be found in this thread.
I feel like Internationalé and Shalem would have more of a hate-snog kind of romance/chemistry, but that’s just me.

I wonder just how drunk can Decker get. But considering the tutorial happens because of Decker getting smashed out of his mind and showing off his augments, I imagine he can get pretty drunk.

 

I don't know if he seems better drunk or not, because non-drunk Decker seems to love complaining.

This is "roommate" Lyra J--I've joined the Klei forums and will keep uploading works to this thread. Big thanks to Kastor for loaning me their time and keyboard!

Cool stuff! Though I'll admit I've always imagined Decker to be a mean drunk. I imagine that - for the tutorial - it was more like he was in a bragging war than buying rounds for people. I imagine that it ended when his cloak died because he forgot it didn't last forever. I also imagine the other guy needed to find teeth when it was all over.

This is *so* awesome!

 

Invisible Inc is a neat project to work on, because you get to write so many characters. The agents don't say all that much in-game, but through their pictures, quips, and Central's descriptions you're able to paint *just enough* of a picture of them to inspire cool works of fanart like this. It's also a game that demands a broad representation of people - they are an international spy agency, after all.

 

Oh, and welcome to the forums. I'm looking forward to seeing anything else you draw!

If I recall the lore, Xu and Sharp used to be colleagues in university. It would have been really funny to have them bickering away if they'd been partnered together.

And when Sharp pisses Xu off, he disables one of Sharp's augments for one turn. For funsies.

 

(Disclaimer I just unlocked Sharp and haven't used him yet. :|)

I think it would be really cool if at the start of each mission instead of one agent saying something, they could say stuff to each other based on the build. much of the lore comes from knowing how central feels about everyone, so if each agent could have an opinion of the other agents that you could only see by playing with different builds and reading them at the start of each mission that would be really cool.

 

nika and banks could tell each other to be careful, sharp and xu could bicker, internationale and shalem could exchange witty insults ... etc 

not whole conversations. just one agent saying one thing and one other agent responding. 

 

I think this could be an easy way to introduce A LOT more lore into the game.

Or if you have both (ie) Nika and Banks on a mission, and one of them gets shot, the other one reacts on the comms.

I third the idea of comm dialogue, especially reacting to major events (obtaining objective, team members falling/being left behind, using medgel to revive, etc). That said, maybe I'm just really, really, really starved for character interaction aside from cutscenes.

For now, I bask in the headcanon that M0nst3r totally has a Rare Pepe collection. Like, at least 50 gigabytes of pure meme.

This thread's gotten quiet, so I thought I'd give a little update on my current I.I. project:

A 2 minute motion comic on all our favorite agents, featuring things people have actually said playing Team Fortress 2.

All my permissions are lined up and production has started! I'll post a link once I finish.
