Screen Flickers when Clicking Mouse

Steps to reproduce

Launch the game and click anywhere on screen with mouse.

Describe your issue

I purchased and played the game after the "Birds Bees Dogs" update with no problems for about a week. I then played through another game and came back to Don't Starve (two updates later). When I launch the game, whether or not It's windowed or fullscreen I get screen flickering problems when I click my mouse. (It shows my desktop through the game.) I have tried all the different resolutions and frame rates with no change. (Side Note: every time I change the frame rate and select Apply it resets to 50. My monitor can go up to 75.) Also, when playing the game fullscreen it gives me black borders around the game. I have tried multiple other games and they work fine, It's just Don't Starve that is giving me a hassle.

Things I have tried: restart pc, update all drivers, reinstall the game via steam, check scaling in catalyst

Intel i7-2600 @ 3.40GHz

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

AMD Radeon HD 6900 Series
