worldgenoverride.lua with the new post-Caves settings

So I was looking to change some twiggy tree and gecko worldgen options on our SU community private server, since some people preferred not to have Twiggy trees or Geckos at the start, but didn't want to eliminate them completely for late game. 

Then I remembered the new worldgen options brought to us with March QoL update:

"

  • Added over 20 new world generation options.
  • Added over 60 new world settings.

"

well... I know what new world options are from generating local server with default settings (see attached files)...

but what about 20+ new world generation options? Is there a full list of override options for each line item? Or would I have to generate world with each option to find out?

Also can I have a world that starts without geckos and Twiggy trees, but doesn't eliminate them completely?

Klei did an amazing job with expanding on worldgen overrides, but I am surprised there is so little support for dedicated servers, or am I looking in wrong places?

Bump. Can we also please get options for new "Eye for an Eye" settings? That is, "eyeofterror" in World Settings and "terrariumchest" in World Generation.

My thread got archived, so no editing which is annoying... but like you said, these are the new lines I could find:

I think that's the "Classic" starting resource variety. Twiggy trees will still pop up naturally and Grass Gekkos will still spawn from player-planted grass tufts as long as grass gekko morphing isn't disabled. The only way to get juicy berries is by playing on endless mode or through the caves, though.

Leaving a note here to ideally get an updated worldgenoverride.lua settings list with the new options from the Moon Quay and October QoL updates. I'll work on the list of options.

Thanks, Scott. It's interesting how these game mode settings need to be applied to all shards. I assumed that indicating global settings only on the Master shard would be sufficient because in the client they only appear as options on the Master. Apparently that is not the case because I had players experiencing the dead player sanity drain, max health penalty, and resurrection setting in the Caves before I updated the world settings down there. Kind of scary realizing that one player alone on an Endless server could have caused a regen if they died in the caves.

The instructions have been updated relating to the changes in Hotfix 528116

Changes to setting the server’s playstyle via worldgenoverrrde.lua:

  • The overrides table for the desired playstyle no longer need to be set on every shard.
  • When set on the master server, they will automatically be sent to the caves server (or any other secondary shard).
  • The playstyle settings should no longer be defined by listing out all the settings in the overrides table. Instead, only on the master server, set worldgen_preset and settings_preset to “RELAXED", "ENDLESS", "SURVIVAL_TOGETHER”, "WILDERNESS", or "LIGHTS_OUT"

Feel free to continue to use the overrides table on the master server and it will auto-detect the playstyle. Setting these overrides on the caves/secondary servers is no longer required.

ive gotten tired of hosting locally and everyone having to get off the game when I am done playing; so i finally setup a dedi and am having troubles setting up the LUA; namely the reset timer and revive at portal... whats the setting in the LUA i have to change?
