Crash during new game, only one mod enabled, 'out of memory' error according to log

As the title says, I am having an issue on starting a new game. With only one mod enabled(The Doctor, a TF2 Medic-based character), I cannot even start a new game due to 'out of memory' errors. I have tried clearing my mods folder and making sure it was the only mod(besides The Screecher) in the folder, and the only mod enabled. I have not made any changes to this computer since I was last able to run it with a larger amount of mods, so I still have 6gb of memory that can be used for this game, out of 8gb. It is extremely frustrating for me, as I love Don't Starve and it's so much better with the mods...

Seeing as I don't know how to edit my post, I figure that I should just post this here.

 

I cleared my mods folder a second time, after making sure The Doctor(Medic) was the only mod enabled and in the folder, and it worked. Surprisingly, really.

Can you post your system specs, also add log.txt, and maybe try getting one of those ram conpacotr mods, where it decudes memory usage
