When me and my friend try to host a server and join each other it doesn't work

When we try to join each others worlds this long list of numbers and letters comes up. We have just now started try to play the multiplayer and this bug is stopping us from playing. Seems like we might be the only people experiencing this bug because i looked up fixes and couldn't find anything. 

 

Hopefully we can get a fix so i can play with my friend!

I am having the same problem, played it a few hours earlier and saw plenty of servers and could join my friend with the use of "friends playing" option (couldn't join through steam). Now i see no servers and can't join him at all.

Could be an issue where the servers were temporarily down. Are you still experiencing this issue?
