Owlserker
category [Crash] Platform SteamDo you use mods? I have them uninstalled Version Number I cant launch the game to find out but its the most recent update Issue titleDont Starve.exe crashing instantly Steps to reproduceLaunch game Game crashes Cry Describe your issueSo my Dont Starve used to work perfectly, with no problem. I had no mods active, last time i logged off. And at one point i attempt to launch Dont starve and it instantly crashed, ever since then it will never launch. ive tried re-running the drivers, ive verified game integrity cache, ive reinstalled the game, ive deleted the mod folders, ive deleted all the folders and re-downloaded them and nothing has worked so far and i know my pc specs are beyond the requirement, especially since i was able to run it flawlessly before. Owlserker
So after looking at bug posts similar to this i found out that they ended up being sent off for refunds, but i love dont starve too much for that and i did some things myself, turns out the only way that ive discovered to fix my issue is to literally reinstall windows. Developer Wade Posted December 1, 2014 Developer Share Posted December 1, 2014 Hmm, you shouldn't have had to re-install Windows unless there were some bad drivers installed that were not compatible. The re-install solved the issue though?
Owlserker
Hmm, you shouldn't have had to re-install Windows unless there were some bad drivers installed that were not compatible. The re-install solved the issue though? Yes the reinstall solved the issue, i did reinstall the drivers that were in the files and still no fix, so i figure it might be a driver that wanst within the instillation of DS. nevertheless i needed to upgrade to Win7 64bit anyway. if i knew what driver was corrupted i would tell you but sadly i didnt look that far.
