[SUGGESTION] Thirst Meter Mod

Could someone make a mod Thirst meter mod? If a character is thirsty the Thirst meter will go down.Then you need a craftable cup and get a water then drink.You can also craft a water jug which has 10 uses that will fill the cup. You can get a water from fishponds. 70/70 Thirst meter will go down 69/70 every 2mins. Then in summer it will go down per 1min . This mod makes the game more challenging!

   Anyone interested to make this mod ?  :excitement:

This mod does make the game more chalenging, but not in a fun way. It simply adds more fustrating micromanagement, for little added depth or imersion. Rather than having simply another number that needs to be kept high, it would be much more elegant to tie thirst into the pre-existing body temperatur bar. Drinking water is an excelent way to regulate body temperature, and as such is a good way to stay cool in the summer. A way, in fact, that seems much more natural than strapping a giant melon or block of ice you your head.

                        It just makes the game harder ... don't say that it is "FRUSTRATING"

I feel you have missed the point I was trying to get across. Rather than simply adding another number to spend your time making "not zero", try to think of ways that drinking fits into the pre-existing game dynamic.

 

Drinkables could be a very interesting food catagory. For example, drinking a bucket of water from a pond could help lower your body temperature in summer. If poison were to be added to the game, drinking milk, or some other remedy would cure the slow life drain. Drinking fermented wine could also provide an interesting, yet unpredictable player effect (improved speed, blindness, sanity regen, weekness, poison, ect).

 

tl;dr Drinkables could be a much more interesting game mechanic than simply another number that you need to keep making "not zero".

First of all, this should go in the mods subforum, not the suggestions. 

Secondly, this has been suggested several times, and has been declined before, I don't have a link from where, but I believe at some point Klei declined this type of suggestion on the grounds that; all the thirst would be is a second hunger bar, and would make the game too micromanage-y. If you'd still like this to be a mod, i'd suggest for one of the moderators to move this to the mods subforum (even though it's pretty unlikely to be actually made, but still) possibly @?

Too much mirco-management, it really would be like a second hunger-bar but one that is infinitely less interesting. There's a diversity of food you can gather and make and combine and store and it gets spoiled. Fluids... well there's just so many places to get fluids from. Water is from ponds, milk you could get from Beefalos... what else is there? I think keeping your eyes on the three meters we already got is enough work. More "realism" does not make for better gameplay.
