Q:How to pin a herd of beefaloes?

So, I've made a den for the beefaloes and replaced the biome turf with savanna turf. Yet, the beefaloes are trying to break loose while mindlessly walking toward their spawn location. How do you guys keep them from walking back?

I also checked the discussion here (http://forums.kleientertainment.com/topic/27915-most-effective-method-of-herding-beefalo/ )but I couldn't meet any success. Any help?

As Hello Spencer and the Truthsleeker said:

  • Use a horn, ideally.
  • Make the pen big enough. Beefalo generally notice walls as obstacles, but will run them down when they're in the way.
  • Turf doesn't actually matter. Ideally you should not use grassy turf to prevent lureplant spawns (doesn't matter if you're looking after them regulary).
  • After sleep (?) or re-loading the save beefalo will forget their old herd and stick to any nearby beefalo.
  • Don't interact with them at all in red ash mating season.

I, personally, prefer to make the entire savanna a safari zoo. :excitement:

I'll take a screenshot of my petting zoo later.
