It Lies Underground (Closed)

Recommended Posts

Percival    766

The effect upon the words Activate being muttered was instantaneous. The light around the disk faded, and the sound of metal sliding against itself resounded from the cube, along with a whirring and warbling sound. Tiny hatches in the cube slid open, and two pale lights shone in the darkness of the ruins. Six spider-like legs popped out and sprang to life, supporting the cube. One could even swear that they heard a tiny pulsing not unlike a heart.

Age must've worn down the cube, though; the legs folded in on themselves, and the cube toppled over, falling out of Thynik hand's onto the ground with a thunk.

The cube wriggled bizarrely, splaying its metal legs like a bug. The legs pinched on one of Webber's fingers.

Nothing obvious happened with the creature, except for it wriggling on the ground while upside down.

(Takes time for it to prepare, remember?)

Let's worry about food and getting out of here. but maybe we should take the cube with us.

Delmar looks up at the same direction they fell down at. There is no going back that way now.

Serenei's head cleared, and his maniacal laughter stopped abruptly. He fumbled with the luminescent-eyed rabbit he was holding and dropped it, where it landed upright and stood there, bathing the cave with a dim yellow glow.

"We may  as well proceed ahead, if we can't go back. anyone with me?"

There is only one way out - a small tunnel.

Delmar is sure to take the cube with him.

A tiny little berry that is blue and glowy is in front of the entrance to the tunnel.

The "berry" rises out of the ground, then you see a large worm that nearly looks exactly like Delmar EXCEPT it doesn;t have legs and Delmar's glow berry is red. It digs and appears RIGHT BEHIND WEBBER!

Behind you!

Delmar says, looking directly at Webber.

(Nope, it's a running gag of mine.  Whenever someone puts an exclamation mark outside of speech.)

(Har har har.)

Webber turned around, and saw the creature. He fell over backwards and hissed in a panicky fashion. The sound echoed a bit and was answered by another hiss.

Delmar roared at the worm creature, it is not afraid. Delmar digs underground at the same time it does and fights it underground. All that can be heard are muffled growls.

(Webber is in the darkness now  isn't he?)

Webber heard a loud hiss, and lit up a torch at the last second. Through cracks in the walls, spiders and spider warriors crawled out to join Webber.

Webber managed to back away at the last moment.

"Get em!"

All the other spiders immediately lept onto the Depth Worm, biting as deep as they could.

In seconds the Worm is covered in bite marks.

It "dies" in about 10 seconds, becoming a skeleton and dropping the glow berry on the ground.

Delmar is still nowhere to be found.

Webber cheered happily, picking up the glow berry.

"Booyah!...We did it!........did you see that, Delmar?.....Delmar?.......h...Hey!.....Where'd you go?..."
