Blorog1 11 Posted December 9, 2012 I've seen a few people with hounds sleeping near their fires, though hounds always try to just kill me, how do they get them to go to sleep?

Full Metal Kirby 18 Posted December 9, 2012 They'll also just go to sleep on their own at night if you run away long enough for them to lose interest.

Syd 232 Posted December 9, 2012 I've had the hounds go from trying to murder me to falling asleep in an instant before.Of course I took that as an opportunity to kill them, but it was odd nonetheless.
Blorog1 11 Posted December 9, 2012 I was just wondering, was sort of weird to me. I shall kill them all anyways.
NightHawk 10 Posted December 9, 2012 If you get close enough to your fire when running from hounds and circle the fire long enough they fall asleep on their own, just be sure you are not around when they wake, or that you are aware of the quickest path to some beefalo or pigmen. Beefalo or Pigmen will kill the hounds for you, although if the pigmen kill the hounds they will immediately eat any monster meat left behind, whereas the Beefalo will ignore the monster meat. NightHawk 10 Posted December 9, 2012 Side Note....Could the Pigmen's affinity for monster meat also have something to do with the origin of Werepigmen?Food for thought!

NeedPants 18 Posted December 9, 2012 i live in a beefalo herdDont have a cow man Be careful using beefalo as a shield. I dont think anything in this game regens health. So beefalo, who iirc are finite, will eventually start dying to the hounds.
]J[ 10 Posted December 9, 2012 So I wasn't the only one that this happened to. I was on my 5th day and had already planted my gardens and all of a sudden 2 hounds appear next to my fire and started chasing me then they fall asleep and I was like "Thank You!" but sadly out of nowhere they wake up and kill me T_T
