Issue title

Game Incompatible with FRAPS Screen-Capture

Steps to reproduce

1. Open Don't Starve

2. Run FRAPS

3. Press capture button

Describe your issue

I am currently using version 3.5.9 of the well-known FRAPS screen-capture software. When I try to capture while playing Don't Starve, it does not work, meaning that it does not capture what is going on on-screen, nor does it record auido/voice. I am not sure if this is a problem with FRAPS or with Don't Starve, so I thought I would bring up the issue just in case it is a problem with the game. I hope that this helps.

I'm using Fraps 3.4.5 and it usually does not work. The issue seems to be other software taking precedence, half the time when I'm in Don't Starve and I hit F10 I get a screenshot of the Logitech Gaming Software window which I use for my G13 keyboard.

I use CTRL+F9, no other program on my computer uses that key-binding. No, using just F9 doesn't work. No, starting fraps first then don't starve doesn't work.

See this page as to why I can't use DWM Recording on Windows 8: http://frapsforum.com/threads/fraps-doesnt-start-stop-recording.2287/

Recording works fine in other programs like Minecraft.

Seemed to work fine for me? Idk why that would happen to ya.. Tho i start fraps and then don't starve but non the point, I'll get random spike drops in fps when i make the video too long (around 5-10mins) that'll only stop once i stop recording, Which i can't understand why it does so because its not like theres a memory issue..

I got fraps to work!

I ran fraps then I ran Don't Starve as normal (in full screen) then when I swapped out of full screen into windowed mode, It detected the game and allowed me to capture it! I have been making vids all day today - should of posted it here earlier but I forgot -_-

I hope that this helps some of you that are still having troubles.

How am I supposed to record 1080p then? I can't do windowed mode at 1080p since that's my max resolution.

I switched to windowed mode, and it still wouldn't let me capture it sadly. I switched back to full screen, and now my refresh rate was forced back to 50 from 60 for some reason (another bug to report.)

So I guess I can't simply use fraps to record Don't Starve :(

I can get camstudio to record it (without any sound), but the framerate is awful (because camstudio doesn't hook, it records anything and everything on-screen), and file size can't go over 2 GB, or else camstudio will crash.

p.s. Windows 8 isn't compatible with most of screen capture software.

It works fine if fraps can hook into the game like it should be able to. But it can't. Skyrim works fine with fraps on Windows 8, Minecraft works fine on Windows 8, heck, even latale works fine on Windows 8 (fullscreen only. XTrap causes latale to close if I use windowed mode and fraps.)

Remember, fraps never used to be able to monitor DWM, as XP and prior never had it DirectX / OpenGL compatible.
