With His downfall, we thought we were free

But the real hell had only just begun

A new era of horror was starting

One without to ever so faint whisper of His advice.

The caretaker was gone

The world was falling around us

We only have to work with

The Remnants of the End

So, I'm trying my hand at making an RP again. I've got loads more time, so, yeah. This roleplay takes place after Maxwell has been dethroned. Everyone thought this would set them all free, but that has obviously not happened. Without Maxwell, there is no one to ensure the worlds were survivable, so resources became limited. Barriers came down. People could meet other people. People could steal from other people. People could kill other people. This is where our story starts off.

Character Application Format

Name:

Age:

Gender:

Race:

Special Abilities:

Backstory (Optional):

Some Rules:

1. No God-Mode. (IE: Reusable Ressurection, Invincibility, Immortality)

2. No Killing Off Characters UNLESS it is realistic. (Examples of realistic reasons: Is attempting to kill your character, Killed someone else. Examples of unrealistic reasons: They argued with me. They make me mad. I don't like that person. All instances of killing someone else off will be verified by me to see if legit.)

3. This is still in the Don't Starve world. You still have to do that. Food is becoming scarce, as well as normal resources. We aren't blessed with infinite grass, twigs, wood, and food.

4. No controlling someone else's character.

5. We can only have at most one death per 5 pages. There can be rare exceptions, but these will always needed to be ran by me before posted.

6. PLEASE use proper spelling and grammar. It is hard to take others seriously when they don't use quotation marks, capitalization, punctuation, or just spelling.

Character List

Will- Will

Age: 17
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Special Abilities: Faster than most people, deals less damage.
Backstory (Optional): To Be Explored

Pecival- Somnium Alyss

Age: 14
Race: Human
Gender: Female
Personality: Gentle and optimistic, she's oblivious to reality and negative events occuring. Her calm nature is unsettling, but she is otherwise a kind, wise girl.
Backstory: One of the few Dreamers left in the world, Somnium seemed to be an ordinary child. As a baby, she never cried or complained, and was relatively silent as she grew older. She only began talking outside of her home at age ten, where she said to the bully at school to 'kindly stop harming these children or have your neck slit.' A few days later, the bully was found dead, the neck clawed by some type of animal. When Somnium's parents were confronted with this, they said that an bobcat or other animal sneaked into their house. Somnium, however, felt like this was something she done. The night before, she dreamt of a lynx, one that would do her bidding. A curious dream for a child. Four years later, her full powers as a Dreamer were realized. However, just as her Dreams could become reality, the same can be held true for her Knightmares. (More shall be revealed throughout the roleplay!)
Abilities: While not relatively strong physically, she can make Dreams and Knightmares from her sleep come real, as long as she can remember the dream vividly. Sometimes, she can inadvertantly summon a deadly creature from her Knightmares, which she has no control over until she goes to sleep. All summoned objects disappear when she sleeps for more than 5 minutes, fading from disappearance. The effects or damage they have done still remains, however.
Appearance: Wearing a violet undershirt, she wears a thick shirt colored with a deep shade of blue. She always looks tired, but she always looks like that when awake. Her hair, a shade of sleepy indigo, looks messy, looking like she just woke up from a restful sleep. Her eyes look glassy, looking as if they have seen everything.
Side-notes: While she has the appearance of a child, she has the intellect of a genius, which makes up for her fragile figure. She can only summon what she remembers from her dreams. If the object in question was fuzzy or cloudy in her dream, then the summoned object will be low quality, or broken. On the same note, she can only dream of what she has seen before, which means she can't make medicine appear if she doesn't know what it looks like for herself. Memorizing pictures or photographs of the object doesn't work, in that manner.

Ellebelly24- Aurora

Age: 15
Race: Human
Abilities: Exceptional Healer, Has Mild Telepathy
Backstory: To Be Explored

Blewcheese- Shelby (Formerly Jack Carter)

Race: Snail (Formerly Human)

Personality: Has a fair bit of patience, and is pretty fearless for a snail. Understanding and kind, generally good at working things out.

Backstory: As William Carter's only brother, the two were very close friends. Jack was the older sibling by about three years, and the two did everything together. Once Jack finished school, he got into a university in America, as the Carter family had lived in Britain. Many tears were shed as Jack departed for America, and he soon arrived. After completing university, he went through a few jobs, living the "American Dream". He got married and had twins, Abigail and Wendy. Soon after, Abigail died in what seemed to be a car crash. The rest of the family was devastated, but they managed to cope. After a few letters to his brother William, who was now a magician, it was decided that William would visit America. However, on his way via train to Jack's house, there was a train wreck. William's corpse wasn't found, but he was decided to be dead. Jack grieved for a while, wandering America, blinded by loss. His life fell apart from there, and he lost his wife in a divorce, and his daughter went with her. Years passed, and Jack hadn't picked himself up. He was wandering the streets when he happened upon an old poster, one for "The Amazing Maxwell". Strangely enough, this "Maxwell" looked very similar to William. Investigating, Jack eventually found Maxwell's old apartment, but it was in ruins. He soon discovered Maxwell's odd study in the fireplace, in the center of which was a book. After looking at the book, he was taken by the shadows, dragged into the strange world. He advanced through it, reaching the final stage, and found himself in Maxwell's lair. It didn't take too long for him to discover that Maxwell was really William, but They intervened. They feared that Jack's bond with Maxwell was strong enough to sever the shadow bindings, so Jack was cursed. He became a snail with very strange powers. He was sent back to the entrance world, and there he wandered for years, assisting those who were trapped there.

Abilities: Knows a lot about the Don't Starve world, can perform minor shadow magic. Is very fragile and slow moving.

Appearance: Bright orange shell, more muted orange body. Wears an odd pair of round glasses.

Rabbitfist- Necromorph

Race: Human-Demon Hybrid
Age: ???
Gender: Genderless
Ability: Can resurrect the bones of killed animals as minions.
Backstory: Necromorph lived in a small village that is today called Koeln. Thousands of years ago, his great great grandfather was cursed by a witch with a black demon blood coated knife. The curse was transmitted to all of his male descendants. Necromorph was forced to flee the village as the people of the village discovered his dark secret. He jumped off a cliff into the sea, and woke up on these islands.

(GOTTA GET A GOOD CHARACTER IDEA ARGH BRAIN WORK)

Here's what I do;

Take a concept, such as time, music, dreams, etc. (wink wink)

Turn the word into Latin

Add a last name

Instant character

I've used this for Fabrico, Tempus, and Somnium, along with a few backup.

The backstory about William is based almost completely on the puzzles and the lore from Don't Starve.

Will sat close to the fire. The bitter cold of this winter night was barely counteracted by the flames. Will reached into his pocket, and produced a small handful of berries. He'd have to scavenge for more food tomorrow.

Falling. Falling forever more in a dream. Somnium hoped that this sleep, this innocence would last forever. This realm was her only place of comfort, her sanctuary to hide from her pain.

-----------------------

A young girl leans against a boulder, dozing off peacefully. Her sleep is punctuated by small breaths and the ambiance of the surrounding area. After a few minutes, the girl awakens, her hair ruffled and her eyes with small bags. Yawning, the girl looks around.

"What a good nap....wait. Where am I?"

The new environment confused the girl immensely. Perhaps she was still dreaming? But she couldn't be, she just woke up. Nevertheless, she pinched herself, hoping that she was dozing off in class again.

"Ow!....so, this isn't a dream..?"

Hoping to find someone to help her, she climbs the boulder to get a higher view. Besides, she was getting chilly.

*Aurora had been relaxing under a tree, healing animals who came to her. In return, they would bring her food. She had to build a fire before the moon rose, so, with the help of all the critters, she gathered enough wood to start a small fire. She came across some flint and stone, and eventually she had a fire*
