(Just asking when I post tonight, would it be fine if I encountered David?)

((No. I'm still with Maxwell. Besides that, David's going to constantly be cross-checking his location with the location of others, making him practically unlocateable because he'd always know where you were, if not how far away you were.))

(I think I'll just go ahead.)

Arriving at the field, Lament surveyed their potential meal. There wasn't more than three bushes, but they were large enough, and they didn't appear to be poisonous. Unless, in fact, the large, flightless bird they had fed one of the berries to was experiencing a delayed reaction or simply immune to the poison. Under normal circumstances, this would have stopped them. But they were starving. Taking the risk, they popped a handful of berries into their mouth. But the mud, predictably, had already filled the inside of their mouth, and it ended up consuming the berries instead of Lament. Though oddly enough, they still felt rejuvenated. And then they realized.

(Thank you for the clarification.

Also, if Tempus is killed off, am I allowed to create a new character for a different piece? I have a backup if things go awry.)

~---------------------------~

Feet growing increasingly weary and the unbearable din the shriek of metal, Tempus was slowly becoming increasingly aware that there is no point in continuing the spell any longer, though he could barely hear himself think. Despite the lack of effort needed, despite the slowly addictive sleepiness that the baton brings, he knew that he required the services of the creature no longer. Excessive use of this magic would simply just brainwash him of the will to think independently. Getting too dependent on these creatures would be unwise.

With that in mind, he reached towards his sleeve, picking out the rod that has been used to create the wisp-like servant, and he held it up in front of his eyes, though none of these actions appeared to the lady following him. Trying to clear his mind of any emotion or thoughts, for he knew an empty mind will speed up the dispelling of the creature, he tapped his forehead with the end of the rod, and the golden vision that was once spread out in front of him melted, as if a thin layer of his eyes have been shed. The effect was quite disconcerting, especially since he spent quite an amount of time in that state, and he rubbed his eyes with the palms of his hands from the sudden contrast and clarity of colors. After adjusting to the sudden colors, he turns towards the young woman.

"Well. I guess this is the part where we go our separate ways. May I escort the lady?"

Manners was one of the things that he was taught throughout his life. Besides, he can't let any harm befall this lady.

His thoughts, however, were interrupted by a remnant of blue mist that caught his eyes. He thought he had dispelled the creature already. Perhaps it was a lagging remain of the spell. Of course, in a moment of clarity he realized, with a sudden jolt of caution, that it was a faint flicker of light from behind the madam. He looked over her shoulder, barely making any effort to hide the caution in his eyes, but the source of the light wasn't eminent.

"Wait here."

He glides along the forest floor, slowly so as not to attract the creature or person that is the source of the flicker. He fingers his sleeve, gripping the bulb of one of the rods, the metal cold against his gloves.

(MAN, MY SKILLS ARE DETERIORATING. I NEED TO PRACTICE.

I NEED SOMEONE TO DEPRECATE ME, THOUGH.)

(Apologies for taking so long. That paper has really taken a lot out of me.)

She couldn't put her finger on it but the man seemed to be weakening. Eve just followed though. No point to kill him. Not yet. They soon reached the forest edge. Ah. Sweet freedom. Now to find more gems. "Shall I escort the lady?" Eve mulled it over. While an extra set of hands would be an aid, she didn't need someone to slow her down. She shook her head softly and turned to leave but was stopped in her tracks by a most peculiar sensation.

Evelyn's sense of touch was gone, she was certain of that. However, this feeling was much deeper than what could be perceived by the surface of her skin. It was an electrifying sensation that tensed her muscles and made her "blood" run thick. She looked at the man. There was a look on his face. Curiosity or perhaps fear. "Wait here." The man glided past her towards what she saw was a light. Perhaps this was the source. "Nnnnnooooo." She half growls. Eve stalks after the man, her right hand opened to use her claws if needed.
