Intermittent extreme lag (Super Slow)

Steps to reproduce

run game normally for about three to five minutes then game slows to a crawl.

restarting my computer allows for another three to five minutes gameplay, then lag returns.

Very slow gameplay

slows my entire system down while Don't Starve slows

a few times the lag had disappeared after continuous play (20 minutes or so of laggy play), only to return a few minutes later.

sytem specs: HP Desktop

-AMD Phenom 8450 triple core processor

-2.1 GHz speed

-5.9 GB RAM

-Vista Home Premium

-Service Pack 2 (build 6002), 64 bit

-NVidia GeForce 9100

-Realtek HDA

-391.2 GB free space
