[CRASH] On Startup - Windows 8.1

Hi,

 

Just bought the game during the steam sale.

 

Installed and whenever I try to play it the game loads briefly, plays about half a second of music then the screen goes white and the game crashes.

 

I've followed these instructions and nothing has changed. DX is up to date, cache is verified. 

 

Attached are the crash reports.

Hi Wade, 

 

Intel I5-3210M CPU, 800 GB RAM, Intel HD Graphics 4000, Windows 8.1 

 

I've updated windows, my drivers and directx. Unfortunately the game continues to be bugged, I've not been able to play it once since I bought it.

If you can sign in, then the underlying Win 8.1 is working happily. What is not working is the display driver to allow things to be put onto the screen correctly. 
You may need to

a) boot into safe mode in order to copy in a new display driver  

b) find that new driver.

May I ask what your system specs are?

After enabling the log, can you check your "documents\klei\" folder to see if there is a log file?

 

If so, can you post the contents of the log file?

No, it will sometimes create a different log file when it has problems.

 

Have you tried uninstalling\re-installing the game, and updating your video card drivers?

yes, I'm reinstalling the game. Driver version 13.152.1.1000

how can I create this a different log?

Not sure what the issue could be.

 

Are you having any issues with any other games?

 

Are you seeing the same thing as the OP, in that you see a white screen for a second before it crashes?

Yes, i have issue only with Mark of the Ninja. I see black screen for a second before it crashes

And uninstalling\reinstalling the game is not working for you?

 

Can you try verifying the integrity of your game cache in case something wasn't installed properly?

 

Do you have any strange configurations of your hardware (ie. multiple monitors or irregular resolutions)?

I reinstalled the game twice. I checked the integrity of the cache. I only have a laptop hp envy M6

Hmm, do you have a "log" directory appearing in your Mark of the Ninja folder?

 

Is there an "aggregate.log" file in there that you can post the contents?
