I built an air flow tile to help direct flue Coral output, but then with water on top of it, the gas could never escape. With the bubbling mechanics it's kinda counterintuitive, feels like a bug that an airflow tile would prevent o2 from reaching the surface.

Airflow tiles always been like that. if you really wanted o2 to flow to the surface then use mesh tiles. Airflow tiles capturing the O2 can be a good thing cause you can easily control where the oxygen will flow to. See example below, basically oxygen from the corals goes into airflow tiles and the oxygen flows into a room with gas pumps.
