When you ranch beakons and flue corals together, the beakons will automatically fertilize the flue coral with lime. It's a great way to avoid needing extra dupe labor or automation, and the animation is cute. However, if you have extra beakons in the ranch beyond the 1:1 ration you need for corals, they will almost never excrete the extra lime. As you can see in the image below, I left the ranch running for about 30 cycles and got almost no lime in the conveyor receptacle collecting it. I uprooted the corals and they immediately began dropping lime.

It's not the worst problem as is. You simply have to design separate ranches for oxygen production and lime production. Still, I imagine many players will be confused about why they don't have the lime they should be producing. Screenshot2026-06-05173039.png.36c669bb0ac3434d670d99fc9c589b11.png

Yeah I had one wild flue coral in my beakon ranch and I couldn’t figure out why I wasn’t getting any lime until I saw them all fertilizing the plant. If I knew they did that I would have designed the whole thing differently. I do miss the submerged ranches being any size. It was nice to be able to just use the natural pool.
