Pproy
With the introduction of the new aqua planetoid, I think it would be a good quality of life change to be able to manually replace specific outer planetoid with the different DLC cluster. As it is now, let say if I would want to replace the tundra planetoid with the Ceres cluster, the marshi with Relica, or even the outer water planetoid with the new DLC cluster, I would need to reroll a bunch of time until I get the changes I want (and that not considering the traits of the starting map). They are thematically fitting replacements. PatrykC159753
Ye i was considering that too. especialy that all new planetoids feet nicely as a change to existing ones. Ceres is tundra. Relika is marshy. And ocean is well "ocean one". They should also make it so their quest lines spawn when you mix them in so that on ceres the geo vents spawn on when you get to relica you find demolitor etc. Â 2 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/171815-let-us-manually-replace-the-outer-planetoid/#findComment-1869140 Share on other sites
Sasza22
It feels natural to swap the generic planetoids to the new ones if the dlcs are enabled. Without that we risk that eventually there will be no room left for all the biomes added in expansions. It already might be hard to fit all in if we keep the generic ocean and generic ice planetoid. This could also work for whatever stuff they want to add in the future expansions if they plan that. Imagine the superconductive planetoid having it`s own superhot biome with special critters and plants. 1 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/171815-let-us-manually-replace-the-outer-planetoid/#findComment-1869150 Share on other sites
gigamoi
Hmmm, this gives me an idea. Given that the planet packs we know of all resemble the previously existing outer planetoid in some way, could we predict the next ones by following this pattern? 🤔 Let's see what we have. There is the "LMAO! Your skin just burnt!" one, the nothing but sand and violence one and,... the moo moon? 🤨 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/171815-let-us-manually-replace-the-outer-planetoid/#findComment-1869193 Share on other sites
PatrykC159753
Well, there could be a desert planet pack for sure. As for magma, I'm willing to bet we're not getting fish that swim in lava. But the relic is volcano-themed, which got me thinking: what if the next planet pack is jungle-themed instead? We already kind of have a "volcano planet" concept, especially since the Demolitor destroys so much of it, and that planetoid only really has one unique feature that makes it stand out. And they could make that volcano indestructable. gigamoi
I tried to match by biome like the suggested replacements,... and my previous post was initially kind of meant as a joke on how absurd some of these projections could be. Although interesting, I think this pattern is coincidental and, therefor, not a serious basis for speculation. (That being said, I personally find it very amusing to imagine what something as wild as a "Moo Moon" planet pack could result in, but that's most likely just me so I will keep it to myself as there would be little value in sharing my ramblings.) w0rph
What I want is them to move away from the fragment style biome mixing planetoids and just give us an "all random" option. This would not need to be 100% random, but I have spent so much time on this game, going to the Experiment Tree planetoid is always the same. Same goes for the Niobium Volcano. Instead if they turned the tree, niobium volcano and other special features of the outter planetoids into story traits and in a second step distributed all of the story traits allover the planetoids that all have completely random biomes, I would LOVE that. Keeps it fresh. You could do some light limitation that some biomes have to be on the same planetoid as others or that some cannot be on the same planetoid, but it shouldn't be too strict. For example a tungsten volcano should not be on the same planetoid as a niobium volcano. If I had to do all of this manually it would kind of ruin the challenge and exploration.
