It doesn't make sense that researching swimwear need material study research when atmo suit don't. I though swimsuits were meant to be an early game alternative to atmo suit on this asteroid, but it is easier to research and set up atmo suits than swimwear, at which point it is irrelevant.

I originally assumed the research portal would unlock swimwear and rubber boots, but it only unlocks mesh tiles and tidal turbines (you still need to research gaskets, plant pulverizer, and the building to make rubber to build those btw). I don't think it would be a stretch to have swimwear and rubber boots from the get go since it still takes time to start making rubber.

Totally agree. I'm nearing cycle 100 on my test colony, I have atmosuits nearly ready, and no easy way to generate rad bolts so I just haven't tried to start material research...

And even if I did use my initial pittance of uranium on radbolts, I'd prioritize other things like better food, steam turbines, etc.

Advanced caffination is just a weird spot for the tech.

Advanced Caffeination is a weird tech name anyway. They should rename it to something else. My suggestion: Supercritical Fluids - It`s a phenomenon used both in making coffee and producing aerogels.

Not that it fixes the swimwear being so late problem though.

I fully agree. The whole research is a total mess and the swimwear is in the completely wrong spot and should probably be given at the start, at least one of the boots or suit. And the other one should just come with the textile station, like the normal suits.
