DeeterDeet Posted November 19, 2023 Share Posted November 19, 2023 Listen....... I play on console and I can't install mods. I HATE placing things in Don't Starve. I kind of just have to wing it and it never ends up looking good. However, I have a really good idea: What if you could craft a magnifying glass. (now hear me out) This is not just some regular magnifying glass. This magnifying glass allows for geometric placing just like the mod. So, whenever you want to place things nice and organised, you can just hold the magnifying in your hand slot while you are placing an item and it gives you a grid to place things about. The magnifying glass should have a really cheap crafting recipe. An alternative way to do this would to just have a specific button that you would press to enable grid placement. This would be the most optimal way to do it. That way you can easily turn it on and off while you are placing a structure. This would really help with my mega base building. Plus, even if you don't play on PC, some people do not like to install mods because they think it is cheating. So PLEASE add this. I would literally fly out to wherever their office is and kiss every developer on the lip TWICE if they added this. This would really help with my last idea, having houses in DST (please go check it out even though it sounds simple I worked really hard on an idea that would fit in with the world of Don't Starve and if you voice your opinions it could become a reality.) As always, please give feedback so we can try to refine this idea and maybe even get it added to Don't Starve. I will try to respond to anything I can with my limited time these days. In my opinion it would be a massive help if they would add it. I guess a better way to do it is just to have a specific button that you press that allows you to enable geometric placing while you are placing a structure. In fact, the only reason I imagined it as an item is because I felt like that would feel like it would fit into the DST world the best. Any quality of life feature is welcomed, no matter its usefulness in my opinion. No disrespect even if our opinions may differ. Thank you so much for your feedback!
