You can live through an entire night with a single torch, without it using up a single point of durability. Technically, you could do it every night with the same one torch for the entire game, without ever building a firepit. It would be silly, but still.

1.Have a torch in your inventory, wait for darkness

2.Wait until your character says "I can't see anything" -> "What was that?". basicaly the last second before you'd get hit by the dark.

3.Quickly put the torch in your character's hands, then remove it immediately, as if you were flicking a light switch, then quickly put it back into your inventory, so it doesn't use up durability while it's on your cursor.

4.You're now in the dark again but you're safe for a few seconds, since the "darkness timer" is now reset. After a few seconds when your character says "What was that?" again, just repeat point 3.

Besides that you can't see anything with the torch in the inventory so well I don't think its that huge.

I see you pull out torch when the Grue is near and I raise you a Quickly switching from tool to torch = infinite torch (handy at night).

If you equip and unequip your torch over and over it will never lose any percentage but will keep you out of the dark

just switch back and forth between torch and anything else equipped and you can have infinite torch to run with.

Torch Swap Working At Night

Steps to reproduce

Have torch equipped

Left click shovel highlight grave with it

Left click to dig

Quickly re-equip torch

Character digs grave with torch in hand

Describe your issue

This exploit allows you to work at night with a torch. Disabling the function that torches would take your item slot up. Can also be used to cut trees/fight/mine rocks/etc without the use of a mining helmet or lanterns.

(When lighting trees on fire you can also left click the torch, Highlight the tree, Left click to light, quickly swap back to any item to save durability on torches. Character will proceed to light the trees on fire while wielding an axe.)

I forgot to add in addition that you keep left click held down to "chop", "mine","dig" using a torch.

Issue title

Eternal Torches

Steps to reproduce

1) Drop a torch on the ground.

2) "Light" the torch on the ground by clicking on it with a torch held by in the cursor. The dropped torch will appear to do nothing and can no longer be picked up.

3) Wait a while; the torch will need to completely "burn".

4) Allow the game to save; exit to the main menu; then continue the game; you can now pick up the torch from the ground.

5) The torch should be at 1% durability and will never drop below, allowing to be used indefinitely.

Describe your issue

This exploit allows the player to create torches which will never lose their durability allowing them to be used indefinitely.

Infinite Torch to Survive at Night

Steps to reproduce

1. Place an utility item in hand (axe, sword, anything)

2. Place torch in slot 1.

3. Spam "1" on your keyboard to quickly to switch between torch and your item.

You will see that Torch does not diminish in % but you will also not die at night

(This works with any slot, but for convenience lets say slot 1)
