Usually leans more into their character itself (Example, "Gentleman Scientist") so that people can kind of decipher what their personality and traits will be like before even choosing them. 7 minutes ago, Waoling said: why is Wurt the half-pint? They're short, especially comparatively to other merms 8 minutes ago, Waoling said: Why is Wormwood the lonesome? He not alone. Wormwood's short depicts him as a bit of an outcast amongst his surroundings, ending in him secluding himself and being alone. 5 1

He’s a gentleman scientist, not a scientist who also happens to be a gentleman. It’s an old term for an independent scientist. Spoiler From Wikipedia: An independent scientist (historically also known as gentleman scientist) is a financially independent scientist who pursues scientific study without direct affiliation to a public institution such as a university or government-run research and development body. The expression "gentleman scientist" arose in post-Renaissance Europe, but became less common in the 20th century as government and private funding increased. He is a "Gentleman Scientist", a title that was given to financially independent scientists who didn't have any affiliations to institutions like universities, which is noted in the loading tip lore that tells how he left university. He is a scientist in the sense that tries to find new discoveries and create new things, but he comically fails at trying to do so.

He is not a standard scientist. The German instruction booklet let us know he isn't popular by his fellow scientists. Of course there might be a reason why he lived in the woods but he work! Back then science wasn't branched and inventing was not that fast and maybe Wilson was interested occult stuff to prove his ability (in te origin trailer he looks like he's depressive)
